A German shepherd from Germany has become and internet sensation after sticking her face into a security camera. Dog owner Joe Corsi got an alert from his home security camera and checked the footage to see his dog, Sasha, sticking her face directly into the camera. Corsi says it’s the first time something like this happened, and he posted the hilarious footage to a Facebook group called “German Shepherd Owners” with the caption, “When your security camera picks up motion, you watch the live feed to see what’s going on. Then what happens next is…” Since posting, his video has been viewed over 58 thousand times.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

Around 16,000 people were supposed to go to a big convention in New Orleans this past weekend for the sorority Delta Sigma Theta.  Which is a historically black sorority started at Howard University in 1913.

Everything was already paid for.  But the event got cut short because of Hurricane Barry.  And they had thousands of meals left over that weren’t going to be eaten.

So instead of wasting them, they donated all 17,000 meals to help the hurricane victims.

It was a big deal, because they were prepped ahead of time, before the storm hit.

So they were ready to go as soon as people needed them.

A spokesman for a food bank they worked with said it was heartwarming to see.

And he was impressed that when their event got cancelled, the first thing they thought about was how to help people.

MOON FACTS:
✓ The average distance from the Moon to the Earth is 384,403 kilometres (238,857 miles).

✓ The Moon rotates on its axis in around the same length of time it takes to orbit the Earth. This means that from Earth we only ever see around 60% of its surface (50% at any one time).

✓ The surface of the Moon features a huge number of impact craters from comets and asteroids that have collided with the surface over time. Because the Moon lacks an atmosphere or weather, these craters remain well preserved.

✓ The average surface temperature of the Moon is 107 degrees Celsius (225F) during the day and -153 degrees Celsius (-243F) at night.

✓ The far side of the Moon looks quite different due to its lack of maria (ancient pools of solidified lava).

✓ Hot dogs were of the first food eaten on the moon. Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong and “Buzz” Aldrin Jr. ate hot dogs on their 1969 journey.

There’s a great interview on YouTube for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, where Buzz Aldrin talks about it from start to finish.  He did the interview in 2016 at a science museum in London, but they just posted it for the first time.  It’s got a bunch of crazy details.  Like, when they finally touched down, they only had about 15 seconds worth of fuel left.

The Newest FDA-Approved Cure for Snoring . . .

The newest FDA-approved cure for snoring is . . . sticking a red-hot probe up your nose.

A company called Aerin Medical created the probes, which they heat up to 140 degrees before they jam one up your nose.  And yes, it hurts.  You DO get a local anesthesia first . . . but they say afterwards, some people need painkillers.

The probe works by attacking swollen nasal tissue.  By burning it up for a few seconds, the tissue shrinks . . . and you can breathe again, so you won’t snore for the rest of your life.  Hopefully.  It’s supposed to be pretty effective, but who knows.

STUDY SHOWS STRESS REDUCTION BENEFITS FROM PETTING DOGS, CATS

If you’re feeling wound up, find a dog or cat to pet.

Washington State University researchers found college students who spent even just ten minutes with a cat and/or dog had their moods lifted significantly.

When tested, students who interacted with the animals had significantly lower levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, in their bodies.

The finding is important, because reducing stress has benefits for both physical and mental health.

KEITH URBAN SURPASSES SIMPLE PLANS FOR CAREER – (07/19/2019)

The reigning ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year, Keith Urban, is 20 years into his solo recording career and he’s still racking up hits, selling out venues around the world and clearly, collecting industry awards. But none of this was his plan, not even specifically his dream. In fact, Keith tells us, this is bigger than anything he ever thought about.[“I didn’t have specifics on anything. I just wanted to move to Nashville, make records and get on the radio and tour around and hopefully people would know the songs. That was it, you know? That was it. And there was nothing like what sort of places I would play or how long I would get to do it for — none of that came into it — and certainly not how long it would take to achieve any of that. I never did any of that timeline, the five-year plan or any of that stuff. I just kept suiting up and showing up. So far so good.”]

Keith’s latest hit, “We Were,” is a Top 20 hit on the country charts.

It’s the debut release from Keith’s upcoming studio album

Keith performs tonight (Friday, July 19th) at the Faster Horses Festival in Brooklyn, MI.

He’ll play the grand re-opening of The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas on September 6th and 7th.

FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE ENCOURAGE OPENING ACTS TO ‘CRUSH’ THEM ON TOUR – (07/17/2019)

Florida Georgia Line make a habit of championing their opening acts on tour. Tyler Hubbard tells us that he and Brian Kelley encourage a little friendly competition in the spirit of inspiring everyone to bring their A-game. [“I mean, I remember being out on Luke Bryan tour.  We were the first of three, and for that 30 minutes we had, we were gonna crush Luke Bryan. That was our goal. It was all friendly, we’re friends. But at that point, for our 30 minutes, in our minds we were the best act in the world. I think you gotta have that mentality, no matter where you’re at, or how many people you’re playing to, or what the case is. I’m gonna tell all the acts on our tour, ‘Hey, for that 30 minutes you’re out there, you better believe that you’re the best artist that’s ever been on this stage.’”]

This time around, Tyler and Brian are joined by Dan & Shay and Morgan Wallen on their Can’t Say I Ain’t Country tour.

FGL will return to Las Vegas for their residency at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood in November.

Dolly Parton – A new holiday Hallmark movie is being filmed at Dollywood next month. “Christmas at Dollywood” will be a marquee event during the Hallmark Channel’s annual “Countdown to Christmas”.
