Jehv Maravilla, 21, and his friend Christian Toledo, 25, placed their poster in the Pearland, Texas McDonalds after noticing a lack of Asian representation in the marketing materials. The pair concocted a scheme that involved buying McDonalds uniforms from goodwill and creating fake badges to have their sign placed in the store. The sign remained in the store unnoticed for 51 days until they posted about their prank on Twitter, where it went viral.

Now, they’re being rewarded for their stunt. On The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the two men found out that McDonalds wants more Asian-American representation in their marketing, and is going to feature both in an upcoming campaign. But the good news doesn’t end there — each will be given a $25,000 check for their participation in the promotion.

A woman in Michigan took away her 15-year-old’s iphone as punishment in April.  But her ex-husband reported it as a theft, and the woman was arrested.

The cops came and arrested Jodie . . . which included cuffing her, separating her from her four-week-old baby, and keeping her in jail for two hours.  The prosecutors charged her with two counts of larceny, which could get her six months in prison.

So this actually went to TRIAL last week.  Fortunately, sanity prevailed a few minutes into the trial, when the judge found out it was just a mom punishing her daughter and immediately dismissed the charges.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

There’s a 47-year-old guy in San Antonio named Wesley Ryan who used to tool around town in a white 1993 Ford Mustang.  And he loved that car more than pretty much anything, except his family.

About 17 years ago, he decided to SELL it to pay off medical bills after his wife Laura was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

The good news is her treatments worked, and she’s been cancer free for 13 years now.  Which is all that really matters.  But he always missed that car.

So their two kids . . . who are now in their 20s . . . recently managed to track down the Mustang’s new owner.  And last month, they bought it BACK for him.

There’s a video of them surprising him with it.  And as soon as he sees it, he starts crying.  But he wasn’t just emotional about the car.

He told a local paper that doing what they did proves his kids are good people.  And knowing he and his wife raised them right is the, quote, “strongest, most powerful feeling that a parent can have.”

(There’s also another weird part to the story.  It turns out the woman they bought the car from was selling it because her mom ALSO just got diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  So once again, the money is going to help pay off medical bills.)

A Senior Citizen Helps Fight Off Three Armed Robbers

Security video filmed three robbers storming a betting parlor in Ireland.  Two were carrying hammers and one had a gun.  There were three customers, and two of them hit the floor . . . but the third guy, a feisty senior citizen, didn’t.

He went behind the counter and started tangling with one of the robbers, and didn’t give up until he chased him out of the store.  And then he came back in and mixed it up with another guy until he left.

Top Five Destinations on Our Bucket List

A recent survey by AARP found that 46% of older Americans have a bucket list.  And traveling is the #1 thing we want to do by far.  83% of people with a bucket list said they have at least one destination on there.

Here are the five most popular INTERNATIONAL destinations we want to visit . . .

  1. Australia.
  2. Italy.
  3. The U.K., or Ireland.
  4. France.
  5. The Caribbean.  Africa is next, followed by Canada.

But the good news is that FANTASIZING about a bucket list trip is half the fun.  The survey found dreaming about a trip is just as enjoyable as going on the trip.
