A pub in England called the Fleece Inn held an event on Sunday called NIGEL NIGHT where 433 guys named Nigel gathered in one spot and set a world record.  One of them was the owner of the pub, Nigel Smith.  He came up with the idea after hearing that no one in the U.K. had named their baby “Nigel” for an entire year.  A member of Parliament named Nigel Adams couldn’t make it to the event.  But he sent in a video message, thanking the various Nigels who helped make it happen.

Mike Tyson is taking his successful cannabis business to the Caribbean after landing a deal to help boost tourism in the country of Antigua and Barbuda. The country is still feeling the devastation from Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017, and relies on money brought in from tourism to help rebuild communities and support the citizens. Another idea that has been discussed is building a full-scale hotel/resort based on the Tyson Ranch brand and business model.

After a 140 Mph Chase, Indiana Man Says He Didn’t Think Police Could Catch His 2002 Acura

Police arrested an Indiana man after they say he led them on a 140-mile per hour chase. A trooper was sitting stationary on the shoulder of eastbound I-80/94 when he clocked a 2002 Acura traveling 116 miles per hour in a zone where the speed limit is 55 miles per hour.

The driver increased his speed as the trooper pulled out to catch up with the Acura.

The Acura sped up to 140 miles per hour, and it began weaving in and out of traffic even though traffic was light. He passed cars on the outside shoulder on two separate occasions.

Dino Lorenzo Gagliano, 20 of Dyer, finally came to a stop and was taken into custody. Gagliano said he was worried about his license, but he thought that ISP cruisers had V6 engines. He was surprised when the trooper caught up with him.

Cops Spent Two Hours Hunting for a Suspect Who Ran Into a Corn Maze

The cops in Petaluma, California were looking for a 29-year-old guy named Ryan Watt on Friday night after he violated his ex-girlfriend’s restraining order.

And when he saw the cops coming, he took off running . . . right toward a giant CORN MAZE.  The corn maze is set up for the season at a pumpkin patch in town, and sits on four acres of 10-foot-tall stalks of corn . . . so the cops had a LOT of searching to do.

To their credit, they took a pretty smart approach . . . they had some cops block the entrance and exit, then sent in teams to systematically search every part of the maze.

After two hours, they couldn’t find Ryan, so they called in a police helicopter . . . which is really cheating for a maze, but whatever.  And after the helicopter didn’t help, one cop realized Ryan wasn’t in the maze at all.

He was actually hiding in a chicken coop nearby.  He was arrested.

RANDOM REPORT

  1.  Toilets make up about 35% of indoor water use.
  2. When marshmallows were created in the early 1800s, they were flavored using the root of a plant called the marsh mallow.  But it was hard to extract the sap from the root, so marshmallows haven’t been made out of actual marsh mallows since the late 1800s.

GOOD NEWS

A Delaware man was so faithful to the lottery numbers that won him $500 in 1999 that he’s been playing the exact same ones ever since.

They finally paid off again last week — wining him $25,000 a year for life. “I thought I was dreaming,” said the man, 65, who wished to remain anonymous.

The big “Lucky for Life” lottery winner opted to take a lump-sum payment instead of $25,000 a year. He’ll be paid $296,400 after taxes are taken from his $390,000 winnings.

As for what he’s going to do with the jackpot, the mystery winner told the newspaper: “I’m pretty laid back and don’t spend money on expensive things. I just want to help a few people out and save the rest.”

WEB FIND OF THE DAY : BLUES SURPRISE 11YR OLD SUPERFAN

The St. Louis Blues showed their gratitude for a young superfan who has been by their side while she battles a rare immune disorder by giving her the gift of a lifetime.

With the team preparing to take to the ice last night for the first time since winning the Stanley Cup Final, Blues’ players Alexander Steen and Colton Parayko visited 11-year-old superfan Laila Anderson at her home on Tuesday to show their appreciation for her support.

Anderson was diagnosed with HLH, a rare disorder that causes the immune system to no longer work properly. White blood cells that fight infections end up damaging parts of the body, such as the liver, spleen, and bone marrow. This can lead to organ damage and death if it is left untreated.

In the video, Anderson slowly lifts the lid of the container, and is surprised when she sees her very own championship ring inside. She is immediately brought to tears.

“That poor guy who’s going to propose to you one day,” Parayko is heard saying.

The video quickly went viral, and the team’s video garnered more than 3.3 million views since it was posted to Twitter. The Blues raised their championship banner last night but lost 3 – 2 to Washington in OT.

Debate Over Which Candy We’d Banish Forever Is Exploding on Twitter

It’s just nice to see people on Twitter arguing over something so simple.

A news anchor from Seattle tweeted a picture on Saturday of six fun-sized candies with the question, quote, “One has to go.  Forever.  Which one do you choose?”

And the candy choices are:  Snickers . . . Kit Kat . . . Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups . . . M&M’s . . . Milky Way . . . and Twix.

The tweet went viral . . And based on the responses, there’s no real consensus.

STUDY: EXERCISING TOO MUCH MAY ALSO MAKE YOUR BRAIN TIRED

Exercise can sometimes leave you body tired, and a new study finds it can also leave your brain tired. French researchers found triathletes who stepped up their training routine had worse decision-making ability, and were less able to think rationally or avoid temptations.

They say this is because their brains were basically burnt out from the mental effort exerted trying to reach exercise goals.

On scientist explains, “You need to control the automatic process that makes you stop when muscles or joints hurt.” This takes a lot of mental effort

BRETT YOUNG AND WIFE ALMOST READY FOR BABY

Brett Young and his wife, Taylor, will welcome their first child later this month. The couple are more than read to meet their new daughter, but are they really ready in every other sense? Kind of. Brett tells us: [“It feels like we’re at a place where we have enough things in the house and in the car that we could keep her alive, which is actually a good feeling, cause that was the goal, to get to the ‘keep her alive place,’  And now we’re in the like, day-to-day, like she should probably have art on the wall in the nursery, and then it’s like, well, she probably won’t be in the nursery for a couple of months still.  So, we’re now kind of trying to style her out, but yeah, the cars and the nursery are ready, so that’s a good feeling.  Now meanwhile, we bought a house this year.  The house took a backseat because the nursery became the important thing, so the house is empty but the nursery’s full.  So, we’re gettin’ there.”]

FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE’S ACM DECADE AWARDS ARE ‘HUMBLING’ WAY TO END TOUR

On the final night of their Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour in Irvine, CA on Saturday (September 28th) night, Florida Georgia Line was surprised during a backstage fan event. An Academy of Country Music executive shared the news that FGL was being honored with not one, but three of the seven all-new ACM Decade Awards that were handed out this year.  Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard were genuinely surprised by the news, and after collecting their trophies, Brian addressed the group of family, friends and fans who were gathered backstage. He said: [“ACM’s, this is mind blowing.  These are three huge, massive honors. Thank you, thank you, thank you.  It really does mean a lot.  You know, you think about all the shows played, you think about all the faces melted . . . (laughter) naw, I’m just kidding! . . . All the hands shook, all the fans made and met and eye contact every show, all the hours put, all the people it takes, all the days that you might not feel like showing up.  These are really special.  These are really cool and it’s a amazing humbling way to end this season of life and this tour, and forever grateful for all of our supporters here, all of our fans.  It takes a big team, it takes a massive group and I just think we’re just more inspired than ever.  All these good things keep happening, God’s just blessing us. So we’re very proud, but more importantly we’re just thankful for all the people that surround us, that continue to lift us up and allow us to create.  It’s the most fulfilling thing, so thank y’all.”]

Florida Georgia Line has four more shows scheduled in 2019 at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
