CK Mornings

The police in Rideau Lakes, Ontario, got a call on Tuesday afternoon from a nursing home . . . because of a BINGO BRAWL.

Apparently, a 79-year-old woman and an 86-year-old woman got into a fight over bingo.  The fight started because one of the women took someone else’s regular seat.

Then, once it got physical, MORE people joined in on the fight.

The cops were able to break it up and, fortunately, no one was seriously hurt.

The cops wound up not filing charges.

If you’re not worried about so-called “deepfakes”, then you’re not paying attention.  A deepfake is a video where you take one person’s face and superimpose it on someone else’s body.

And the technology is already advanced enough that you can make them virtually flawless.  At a time when “fake news” is already a huge problem, the consequences of a good deepfake are potentially devastating.

That point really got driven home yesterday, when a video went viral of

JENNIFER LAWRENCE giving an interview, but with STEVE BUSCEMI’s face.

As insane as that sounds, the result looks like a human being who actually exists . . . but also a human being who should never, ever exist.

Days before “The Walking Dead” returns with the second half of its ninth season, AMC has renewed the hit series for a tenth outing. The Walking Dead is down 33 and 40 percent from its Season 8 average but still leading all AMC shows, and more than doubling its spinoff Fear the Walking Dead’s numbers). AMC CEO Josh Sapan hinted in 2017 that The Walking Dead could remain on the air in some form for years, if not decades. The show returns to the airwaves this Sunday.

Runner in Colorado Was Attacked by a Mountain Lion . . .

A guy was running at Horsetooth Mountain in northern Colorado on Monday when a MOUNTAIN LION came up from behind and ATTACKED him.

It started biting the guy’s face and arms.  But he managed to break free . . . and then he attacked back.  He wound up suffocating the lion and KILLING IT with his bare hands in self-defense.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Mountain lions rarely ever attack people . . . there have been less than 20 fatal attacks in North America in more than 100 YEARS.  Colorado’s Parks and Wildlife officers think this one might’ve been sick or injured, which is why it attacked.

And they say that if a mountain lion ever does attack you . . . do JUST what this guy did.  Your first goal is to back away . . . but if that doesn’t work, you need to fight back.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

A 33-year-old woman named Gina Lyons from London and her 35-year-old husband Mark Lee went on their honeymoon to Sri Lanka back in December 2017.  And they LOVED the small hotel they were staying at.

But one night, while they were about 12 glasses of rum deep, they found out the hotel was going to shut down because the owners either couldn’t or wouldn’t make the lease payments.

And when Gina and Mark found out those payments were around $40,000 total for three years . . . they BOUGHT the hotel on the spot and signed a new three-year lease.

The problem is . . . it’s not like they’re rich.  Once they sobered up, they panicked over what they’d done . . . but a deal is a deal. So they sunk in another $8,000 for some renovations and reopened the hotel in July.

They’re calling it Lucky Beach Tangalle, and they say, fortunately, business has been GREAT.

He’s 45, Plans to Live Another 135 Years. Here’s How

Dave Asprey is 45, which in his view “officially” makes him a young adult. That’s because his well-known goal is to live to 180; he’s now a quarter of the way there.

The Bulletproof Coffee (that’s coffee with oil and butter in it) founder has spent $1 million on biohacking, deciding to experiment on himself. He tested a low-carb diet. He shed 50 pounds.

He started taking “smart drugs” from Europe, began downing supplements (he currently takes 100 per day) and launched Bulletproof, which has now gotten more than $50 million in funding.

His quest for longevity has led him to “extreme interventions,” among them “the most extensive stem-cell treatment that’s ever been done on a person at one time”:

Half a liter of bone marrow was taken from his body, the stem cells were removed, and then they were injected into his joints, spinal cord, scalp, face, and male organs.

Asprey plans to undergo this procedure twice a year.

RANDOM REPORT

  1. The term “Hail Mary” for a long, desperate throw in football started in 1975, when Roger Staubachthrew a 50-yard touchdown pass to win a playoff game for Dallas over Minnesota.

And, in an interview after, he said, quote, “I guess you could call it a Hail Mary.  You throw it up and pray.”

  1. The Canary Islands aren’t named after the birds.  The name comes from the Latin “Canariae Insulae” . . . which means “Island of the Dogs.”  It was chosen because there were a ton of wild dogs there.

  1. Caesar salad comes from Tijuana, Mexico.  It was created by an Italian immigrant named Caesar Cardini at a restaurant he owned there.

  1. There was almost another Disney park in the U.S. . . . in Ohio.  In 1960, Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio made a deal to convert into another Disneyland location . . . but it fell through.

JORDAN DAVIS PLANS ‘MASSIVE PARTY’ TO CELEBRATE HIT SONG – (02/07/2019)

Jordan Davis could end up with his second consecutive Number One hit soon with “Take It From Me.” The song sits in the Top Five and climbing up the charts, and it’s especially meaningful to Jordan because he co-wrote it with his brother and fellow artist, Jacob Davis.

Jordan tells us that chart-topper or not, he and his brother plan to celebrate “Take It From Me” big time when all’s said and done. [“Wherever this song ends up, there’s gonna be a massive party thrown, you know, because, A, family’s very, very proud. My mom’s very excited. She actually wasn’t able to make the ‘Singles You Up’ Number One party so Mom’s definitely making this one, and it’s gonna be probably a weekend celebration. There’s gonna be too much celebrating to put into one day, so we’re gonna have the family come in no matter what happens. Number One is gonna be cherry on top. It’s gonna be a fun time.”]

Jordan continues on Old Dominion’s Make It Sweet tour on Friday (February 8th) in Uncasville, CT.

Maren Morris On Not Fitting Into the Female Stereotype in Today’s Country

MAREN MORRIS did an interview with Genius where she talked about her approach to writing lyrics.  One thing she does NOT want to do is limit herself to the stereotypes she’s been experiencing in country music.

Quote, “I don’t know who has made these strictures, but it’s like women in country music need to be super religious, they need to be super conservative, and never show their body.  And I’m like, ‘Are you giving me a run for my money right now?’

“Because like Dolly [Parton’s] outfits back in the day were amazing.  There’s just such a stupid mold that we, even ourselves, are attempting to fit into”
