CK Mornings

The cops in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, raided a house last week because records showed it was supposed to be empty . . . but they knew someone was living inside.

And when they searched the place, they found about $400,000 hidden inside the washing machine.

So they arrested the 24-year-old guy who was living there . . . for money laundering.

Yes, the guy had the money because he was laundering it . . . but this might be the first case of money laundering that was also so LITERAL.

There’s a 70-year-old guy named Robert Davis from Key Largo, Florida.

And he installed remote-controlled black SHIELDS that he could roll down over the license plates on his minivan . . . so he wouldn’t have to pay tolls when he went past toll cameras.

And Robert kept getting away with it until about a week-and-a-half ago, when an off-duty Florida Highway Patrol officer randomly spotted the license plate shields in action at a toll plaza.

Robert was arrested and charged with organized fraud and petit theft.

ENTERTAINMENT

Justin Timberlake has been sneaking into book stores and secretly signing copies of his autobiography “Hindsight: And All The Things I Can’t See In Front Of Me”.  On Wednesday, he took to Instagram and posted a third video of him sneaking into a store – this time Barnes & Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles – and signing a number of books.

That followed previous similar posts shared by Timberlake, of him visiting a different branch of Barnes & Noble two days after the book was released, and a Target store a few days later.

As you probably know, BOB SAGET the stand-up comedian is MUCH more risqué than his G-rated character from “Full House”.

So maybe it makes sense that Bob will now host an edgier, raunchier version of “America’s Funniest Home Videos”, which will also air on ABC.  It’s called “Videos After Dark” . . . and it features the clips that “America’s Funniest Home Videos” chose NOT to air over the years, because they were, quote, “too risqué.”

There’s no premiere date yet, but it’ll debut sometime next year.  By the way, this will NOT replace “America’s Funniest Home Videos”.  It just got renewed for two more seasons.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

A 73-year-old Vietnam vet named Stanley Stoltz passed away in Omaha, Nebraska last Sunday.  And no one could locate any family in the area.

So a local newspaper ran a one-line announcement that said anyone who wanted to go to his funeral was welcome to attend.

A local radio host also talked about it on the air, said he was going, and encouraged listeners to join him.

And when the funeral happened on Tuesday, HUNDREDS of people showed up to pay their respects.

No one got an exact headcount.  But there were at least 400 people there.  And one estimate said it was more like FIFTEEN HUNDRED.

The chaplain at the ceremony said it’s the first time the cemetery had ever seen a crowd that big.

STUDY: OPENING WINDOWS & DOORS MAY IMPROVE SLEEP:

Getting plenty of good-quality sleep is great for your health, and a new study highlights one thing you can do to increase your chances of getting it: open doors and windows.

Researchers found participants slept more deeply and efficiently and woke up fewer times when carbon dioxide levels in the room were lowest.

Therefore, letting some fresh air in, or letter the air flow more freely in and out of your bedroom might help you catch more or better Zs.

SHANIA TWAIN IS ‘A LITTLE BIT BORED’ WITH TODAY’S COUNTRY MUSIC

Shania Twain admits that she is less than enthused about today’s country music. She recently told E! News, “We have too much of the sameness right now. The only way to do that is to be proactive” Shania is also “fed up with the ageist and sexist thing,” adding that her new show, USA network’s Real Country, is an opportunity for absolutely anyone to have a shot at realizing their dream.
