➢ Christmas may be a few months off, but if you’re planning on getting a tree this year, you might want to start saving now.
The artificial Christmas tree industry expects prices on its products to go up by double-digital percentages.
Some holiday companies say current global supply problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and high shipping expenses are among the reasons why tree costs are going up.
➢ It’s September and Halloween is closer than Christmas, but experts say go ahead and put up your Christmas decorations if you feel like it– it will make you happier. Research shows those who put up their Christmas decorations early are happier and more relaxed than those who wait. Psychoanalyst Steve McKeown says that people who start Christmas decorating right after Halloween are driven by nostalgia. He adds, “In a world full of stress and anxiety people like to associate to things [sic] that make them happy and Christmas decorations evoke those strong feelings of childhood. Decorations are simply an anchor or pathway to those old childhood magical moments of excitement.”
➢ This family’s cat meows a lot, and when it does, their parrot swears and tells it to shut up.
➢ A “Twins” sequel called “Triplets” may start filming early next year. In this one, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito find out they have a third brother, played by Tracy Morgan. Eddie Murphy was originally supposed to do it, but he’s too busy now.

With fall officially arriving today, for some it’s the most wonderful time of the year: Pumpkin Spice season. And if you are one of those people who want pumpkin spice in everything from your Oreos to your…pumpkin spice…here is some good news:
The spices that are mixed together to make pumpkin spice each have their own health benefits.
That’s right: Pumpkin spice is actually pretty good for you.
The flavor is generally made up of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and allspice. Cinnamon is thought to help control blood sugar levels, nutmeg has been used to treat many afflictions including cancer and kidney disease, but more research is needed. Ginger seems to be an effective treatment for nausea and morning sickness.
Cloves are used to treat toothaches, and allspice is good for things like intestinal gas, diarrhea, flu and colds. And let’s not forget pumpkin.
While it isn’t actually an ingredient in ALL pumpkin spice products, if it is used, you’re in luck. Pumpkin is high in vitamin A, which is good for your eyes, skin, and fighting infections.

First Adult Purchase We Get Excited About Happens at 22
You could argue that anyone who USES the word “adulting” isn’t a real adult yet. But I’m about to use it, so never mind . . .
A new poll on “adulting” asked people how old they were the first time they got excited about a LAME adult purchase, like buying a vacuum cleaner.
It actually happens pretty young. The average answer was 22 years old. (That makes sense, because it’s right around when a lot of people get their first place.)
The average person doesn’t start feeling like an adult until 25 though. Here are a few more random stats from the poll . . .
- The top signs you’re a true adult include: Saving money . . . doing taxes . . . sticking to a budget . . . buying life insurance . . . and making regular doctor’s appointments.
- 39% of us feel like our friends are significantly better at adulting than we are.
- 51% of adults go to older people with questions about things like taxes, mortgages, and life insurance.
- 43% of parents say that having kids has made them a more careful driver. And just under a third said they’re more likely to read nutrition labels now.
FALL IS HERE………
Are you excited that we’re now entering fall, or are you sad that we’re leaving summer? According to a new poll, summer has a bigger fanbase.
33% of people said summer is their favorite season, followed by 22% who chose spring. Fall wasn’t too far behind with 19%. Only 7% of people said they like winter best, while 18% said that they don’t know or don’t have a favorite season.
There were big differences among age groups. Gen Z preferred winter 23% to spring’s 9%, while those 65 and older were the opposite, loving spring 32% over winter’s 2%.

CARLY PEARCE “WRITTEN IN STONE”
Carly Pearce’s new album, 29: Written In Stone, was released (Friday, September 17th). The project is an expansion of her 29 EP which was released in February.
Carly has added eight new songs to the original seven, including one called “Dear Miss Loretta” featuring Patty Loveless and another collaboration with Ashley McBryde which was released earlier this week called “Never Wanted To Be That Girl.”
Carly tells us that when she began writing these additional songs she had no intention of adding them to 29. In fact, she says she didn’t have any specific intention other than to get a few things from the past year out of her system. [“I think that I knew I had to get some things off my chest, and never thought that people would connect with it as they did. But as they were connecting and as my career was kind of taking off, I felt so inspired to keep going, and I think they finish out this chapter of my life. I think they finish out what the year 29 was for me. It was a really defining year for not only myself personally, but also for my music. And I think that seeing the reaction of the first seven, I felt so inspired in the midst of that to keep going and to keep writing until I felt like it was finished, and now I feel like I can close that chapter.”]

Trace Adkins Doesn’t Get to Shoot Anyone in the “Monarch” Series
When TRACE ADKINS is in a movie, he shoots people. Hey, I’m just quoting Trace. Somebody asked about his upcoming series “Monarch” and he said things are a little different this time around.
Quote, “I pull a gun in this, but I don’t actually shoot anybody. I think that may be a first for me in a Western. I have shot people in every one, I think.”
Trace has a leading role as the “reigning king of country music.” The star of a show usually doesn’t die, and that’s also the case here.
Quote, “I didn’t get killed in this one either, which is unusual. I’ve been getting killed in every movie I do for the last couple of years, but they didn’t kill me in this one.”
“Monarch” also stars SUSAN SARANDON as Trace’s wife. It premieres January 30th on Fox . . . after the NFC championship game.

PARKER McCOLLUM TAKES ON GEORGE STRAIT FOR SPOTIFY
Parker McCollum has released his own version of fellow Texan George Strait’s classic “Carrying Your Love with Me” as part of a new Spotify campaign which celebrates country music of the 90s. “Carrying Your Love With Me” was a hit for George in 1997.
Breland and Tenille Arts are also part of the Spotify campaing. Breland offers his version of Deana Carter‘s “Strawberry Wine,” while Tenille takes on The Chicks‘ “Wide Open Spaces.”
According to unique user data from Spotify, US streams of the 90s Country playlist have grown 150% since 2018, and 70% among Gen-Z users in that time. Additionally, there are currently 89 million playlists from Gen-Z users containing iconic 90s Country tracks.
Breland has released a cover of the Deana Carter classic “Strawberry Wine”.
