➢ A Toronto man may have come up with the solution to “porch pirates” stealing packages from front doors. Eric Martin has invented a piece of patio furniture that also works as a safe for parcel deliveries. He says the “Boxr bench” is a multifunctional bench with secure storage, that helps homeowners to receive deliveries without compromising curb appeal. When an online shopper places an order, they give the company an access code, which the courier uses to open the safe and leave the parcel.
➢ An entrance to a Toronto subway station was temporarily closed due to some wandering wildlife. In this case a beaver.
According to the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), the beaver strolled into Royal York Subway Station on Bloor Street, near the Humber Marshes, early Thursday morning.
A transit user captured a photo of the beaver at the Grenview entrance and posted it to Twitter. The TTC says the city, police and animal control were notified.
“For all those wondering, Rascal, the Royal York beaver, is safe and with animal services,” TTC spokesperson Stuart Green added.
➢ Last year, a couple in Riverside, California cashed out their life savings to buy a house for $560,000. But they still haven’t moved in, because the previous owner is squatting there and won’t leave. And they can’t kick him out because of a loophole in the COVID eviction bans.
➢ Last week, a teacher in New York who almost died of COVID at the start of the pandemic went back to the hospital that treated him. And he got to see all the doctors and nurses who saved his life. His name is Tyrone John, and he’s only 39. He was the first COVID patient they had to intubate, and he was in a coma for three weeks. But then he recovered, and became their first critically ill patient to beat the virus and go home.

A Guy Used His Debit Card to Break into a House . . . and Left It Behind
A 30-year-old guy named James Tanner from Alpena, Michigan broke into a house back on Halloween.
He used his own DEBIT CARD to force open the lock . . . and then, he accidentally left it behind. And yes, it had his name right there on it, so the cops could use it to identify him.
I’m not sure what took so long, but a warrant for him was finally issued earlier this month. The cops tracked him down . . . already in jail on some unrelated charges.
He’s been charged with second-degree home invasion.
BANK ACCIDENTALLY SENDS MAN REPLACEMENT DEBIT CARD EVERY FEW DAYS
You know your bank will send you a new debit card if yours is about to expire, but they usually only send you one. A man on Reddit says his bank actually sent him 64 copies of the same debit card. He shared a photo of all the cards, still attached to letters from the Premium Members Credit Union. He explained, “Back in December, I started receiving replacement debit cards. They’d show up one or two at a time every few days. I’ve called my bank several times but the card issuance is handled by a third party. The only difference between each card is the expiration date (and I assume CVV), which are sequential. The first card expires 12/23 and the last expires 04/30 with every card in between, although I seem to be missing 07/29.” He added that now he thinks the issue may have now been resolved as he cancelled the card and hasn’t received any more duplicates in over a week.

Chatham’s Beverley Perrin has been thanking truck drivers for all their hard work during the pandemic.
For a year, she’s been writing thank-you cards and handing them out at truck stops.
In every card, she writes, “Thank you so much for bringing supplies to our stores, even though it’s sometimes under harsh circumstances. Take care, [and] stay safe.” She says she’s handed out about 1,000 of them so far.
Some friends and family members have told the couple to stay away from truck drivers because they travel all over the place and could infect them with the virus.
“I see drivers always wiping down stuff, wearing their masks and some even wear gloves when entering the store. They follow more protocol than some people I know,” says Perrin, who just received her first shot of the Covid vaccine.

PSYCHOLOGISTS SAY TOXIC POSITIVITY IS ON THE RISE
Ignoring tough emotions and acting happy all the time is called “toxic positivity,” and it’s not great for your mental health. John-Paul Davies is a psychotherapist, and explains, “Toxic positivity is going straight to those feelings that we naturally want more of, like joy and happiness, and wanting to bypass the emotions that are more difficult to sit with.
The reasons there’s a toxicity to it is that feelings are responses to things that are happening around us, so they need to be given space. Chartered psychologist, Dr. Lynda Shaw, adds, “[…] there’s no such thing as good and bad feelings.
All emotional states are valuable to our human experience, and anxiety, anger, and fear are primitive ways of keeping us safe and well.” In other words, telling someone to “look at the bright side” when they are dealing with appropriate and understandable difficult feelings is harmful.
The experts say if you’re guilty of pushing positivity onto others, you should take the time to truly listen to them and understand what’s going on, and if you are pushing positivity on yourself you should try to honor all of your feelings, and speak to a professional if you need some help dealing with your emotions.

CARGO SHIP STUCK IN SUEZ CANAL AFFECTING GLOBAL SHIPPING:
Efforts are continuing today to try to free a huge cargo ship that’s stuck across Egypt’s Suez Canal, affecting global shipping as other vessels aren’t able to pass through the canal in either direction.
At least 150 other ships were waiting for the Japanese-owned ship Ever Given to be freed so that they could proceed. The Ever Given, among the largest cargo ships in the world with a length of nearly a quarter mile, got stuck on Tuesday in the canal.

TIM McGRAW’S NOT AFRAID TO SHOW HIS EMOTIONS
Tim McGraw says that he’s gotten more emotional over the years and he’s not afraid to shed a few tears. He says there could be a couple of reasons for that.: [“I don’t know, maybe it works reverse for some people. I mean, I know my uncle Hank, Tug’s older brother, 77 I believe, and he’s always been a pretty stoic guy in a lot of ways. But boy, I call him now and all I can do is say two or three things to him and he just falls apart. So, maybe it’s a family trait, I don’t know. The older you get the more emotional you get on the McGraw side of the family. Maybe that’s what happens, I don’t know. But, I guess you start looking at like differently and I think that’s probably it more than anything.”]
Although his song “Undivided” with Tyler Hubbard isn’t on his latest album, he does plan to release more singles from that album.
Tim’s dad was major league baseball player, Tug McGraw, he didn’t know until he was 11 and found his birth certificate in his mom’s closet.
Tim grew up as Tim Smith because that was his stepdad’s name.
CARRIE UNDERWOOD RELEASES ‘MY SAVIOR’ TODAY
Carrie Underwood follows the success of her recent Christmas album, My Gift, with an album of gospel hymns, titled My Savior, which is available everywhere today (Friday, March 26th). The 13-song collection includes guest appearances by CeCe Winans and Bear Rinehart of the rock band NEEDTOBREATHE.
Carrie says it only made sense to record My Savior on the heels of My Gift: [“As we were kind of in the middle of it, you know talking about the followup, to me it was like we might as well just go ahead and do it. Like we don’t know when the world is gonna back to ‘normal’ so to me just staying in this space and getting to just be inspired and sing songs like this throughout last year and this year. It was such a blessing to me so I definitely hope that when people listen to it they feel that.”]
My Savior will be available on vinyl on April 30th.

Kenny Chesney will release the deluxe edition of his latest album, Here And Now, on May 7th. The extended project will include four additional songs, and pre-orders begin today (Friday, March 26th).
Here And Now was released in May of last year. It features 12 songs, including 3 number ones. The title track, “Tip of My Tongue” and “Happy Does.”
Kenny is currently climbing the charts with “Knowing You.”
