On Today’s Show
➢A guy in Australia set a world record by running a marathon in 16 hours and 12 minutes while he pulled a 1.6-ton truck behind him. (Here’s Corey Phillpott who said he wasn’t sore afterwards and did it for the charity ChildSafe Australia.)
➢ Before tossing out old items you find in your basement you should make sure they’re not worth big bucks. Sotheby’s auction house in New York says a man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased a floral bowl for $35 at a yard sale in New Haven, Connecticut in 2020 and sent photos of the object to an auction specialist to see if it was a genuine antique. The porcelain bowl was identified as a “lotus bowl” from the court of the Yongle Emperor, who ruled China from 1403 until 1424. Sotheby’s says only six other lotus bowls from the same period are known to still exist. The bowl is scheduled to be auctioned on March 17th and is expected to fetch a high bid of $300,000 to $500,000.
➢ A woman in Thailand couldn’t believe her luck after stumbling across almost £190,000-worth of whale vomit near her beach house. Siriporn Niamrin, 49, had been walking along the beach after a rainstorm when she noticed a large mass washed up on the shore. Upon closer inspection, she noticed the substance smelled like fish, so she dragged the mass away from the beach – believing her find could be worth some money. Siriporn is now waiting for experts to visit her house to confirm that the lump is genuine ambergris, the rare ingredient used in the perfume industry.
➢Piers Morgan quit his job at “Good Morning Britain” after a co-host called out his hate for Meghan.
Piers Morgan was a big fan of Meghan Markle’s show “Suits” back in the day, and he struck up a friendship with her on Twitter. One time, Meghan came to London to watch Serena Williams play at Wimbledon, so she and Piers got together at a pub. After a few drinks and some conversation, Piers put her into an Uber and she headed off to a party . . . where she met Prince Harry for the first time. And Piers never heard from her again. And apparently, he’s always held a grudge.

BEER I GO AGAIN:
It’s a whole new spin on giving up something for Lent. Rather than giving up sweets or smoking,
Cincinnati brewery owner Del Hall (“A Real American Beer-o”) has given up all food and beverages — except beer.
That’s right, since Feb. 17, and through until Apr. 4, Hall is consuming a diet consisting of only malt, barley and hops – in liquid form. (Plus a little water, black coffee, and herbal tea, for health reasons.)
Why? He is doing it to raise money for those in the hospitality industry that have been affected by the pandemic. His goal is $50,000. And this isn’t his first time. It’s the third year in a row he has had only beer for Lent.
Hall says he “enjoys” 3-5 beers per day, and in the previous 2 years, he lost 40-50 pounds each time. On Monday, he reported on Instagram that he had lost 23.1 lbs. (10.5kg) in 20 days.

Anyone who needs food can get it, no questions asked.
So far, they’ve given out around 170,000 meals in the last 12 months.
(Here’s one of the owners, Gabriella Ottaiano.)

Man Is Fined $3,800 for Torturing His Neighbors by Singing ABBA Loudly and Terribly
There’s a 50-year-old guy named Jason Harvey in Romford, England. And he had a song in his heart, even if it didn’t sound very good when it came out of his mouth.
Jason loved to fire up his home karaoke machine and sing ABBA songs all night on Saturday nights. It was so bad he wound up getting more than 150 noise complaints.
One of his neighbors told reporters, quote, “It has been a nightmare. I dreaded Saturday nights. It was so loud and his singing was terrible.”
Besides ABBA, the cops also received specific complaints about Jason’s renditions of “Sultans of Swing” by Dire Straits . . . “Blue Monday” by New Order . . . and “Islands in the Stream” by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. Jason was in court and he was fined $3,800.
Woman Attacks Her Roommate for Playing the Same Song Over and Over on a Loop
53-year-old Mary Ann Lannon has lived with her cousin in Clearwater, Florida for the last five years. And earlier this week, she lost it when the cousin wouldn’t stop blasting the same song over and over again on a loop.
It happened around 12:15 in the morning last week. And the song she freaked out over was . . . Chic’s 1978 disco hit, “Le Freak“.
Mary Ann shoved her 64-year-old cousin into a makeshift tiki bar they’d set up, and it collapsed.
Her cousin fell through the bar . . . landed face-first on a speaker . . . and ended up with a black eye. Cops arrested Mary Ann for domestic battery, and she’s not allowed to have any contact with the cousin for now.

Can Concerts Return This Summer?
Live Nation is planning to host outdoor amphitheater shows by mid-summer. And they’re pretty optimistic that, quote, “events can return to regular capacity” soon after the vaccine becomes widely available.
Unfortunately, it’ll probably take longer than that for the touring industry to start up again. We may even have to wait until next year. And there are a few reasons for that.
First, it’s going to be a while before indoor venues are allowed to operate close to full capacity, and indoor shows may not be worthwhile until then.
It’s also not worth it for an artist to tour if the whole country isn’t in sync. One music exec says, quote, “You can’t do Swiss-cheese routing. If it’s got holes in it because certain states haven’t opened up, it’s generally not going to work.”
A lot of people in the live music industry have cold feet about even announcing anything at this point, because so many things have been pushed back so many times.
So while it looks like there will be some shows this year . . . at least at outdoor venues . . . it remains to be seen if anyone will make the move to start touring again.

MOST DANGEROUS INTERSECTION IN CK
The next time you drive through the intersection of Keil Drive and Richmond Street in Chatham, take an extra look around because it tops the list of Chatham-Kent intersections with the most collisions in 2020.
Chatham-Kent police (CKPS) reported on Tuesday that Keil and Richmond had 14 crashes last year, followed by the intersections of McNaughton and Reaume in Wallaceburg with 13, Grand and Keil with 12, and Lacroix and Richmond with 10.
Other statistics compiled by police showed eight fatal crashes last year, the same as 2019, with half of them being alcohol related and some of them involving both alcohol use and people not wearing seatbelts. The data also showed that most of the impaired related crashes involved drunk drivers but drug impairment is up from 2019.
CKPS also reported a 34 per cent drop in crash calls overall in 2020, likely because the COVID-19 pandemic had people staying at home and working from home. They also said crashes reported to the collision centre went from 2,265 in 2019 to 1,640 in 2020. RIDE stats were also down significantly because of the pandemic. The number of vehicles checked and charges laid were about half of what they were in 2019.

- Today is Landline Telephone Day. On this day in 1876, Alexander Graham Bell made the first ever telephone call. This is a day to celebrate your landline, if you still have one. Some people still do because landlines work when the power goes out and they never need to be charged.

DIERKS BENTLEY COMBINES ‘BLUEGRASS WITH KICKASS’ FOR LATEST HIT
Dierks Bentley‘s latest single, “Gone,” has a special signature production that Dierks tells us is a hybrid of his two favorite sounds. [“So, the production is a little different. I mean, when I’m doing my thing the best, I think it’s when I mix the bluegrass instrumentation with some of the, we used to call it ‘mixing the bluegrass with the kickass.’ But you know, trying to get those acoustic instruments with the big drums and the big guitars and finding that place where they meet. Even though I’m always trying to do something different musically, I always go back to that.”]
“Gone” was co-written by Niko Moon. It’s a current Top 20 hit and climbing for Dierks.
FAST FACTS
Dierks is nominated for a pair of awards at this year’s ACM Awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year for “Gone.”
The 56th Academy of Country Music Awards will air live from Nashville on April 18th beginning at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

Brad Paisley’s Free Grocery Store Is Feeding Millions of People
You want to talk about perfect timing AND rising to the challenge? Let’s rewind to about a year ago when BRAD PAISLEY opened The Store, his free grocery store in Nashville.
They had a number of meals that they were set up to give away . . . and then came COVID and that plan got blown out of the water.
He talked about it yesterday on “The View”. Quote, “We opened last year, and you can imagine, immediately we were hit with this crazy demand.
“We expected to do about 300,000 meals last year. And we ended up doing a million in January. We weren’t even a year old yet. I don’t know how we did it. But you rise to it in a time like this.”
