CK Mornings

➢ Before COVID-19 existed, the most inescapable blight in the world was “Baby Shark” . . . and amazingly, it’s STILL GOING STRONG.  In fact, the original PINKFONG version has become the most-watched video in the history of YouTube, with more than 7.04 BILLION views.

It just dethroned Despacito by LUIS FONSI.  It’s still a close second, with more than 7.03 billion views.

➢ There’s a new trend on social media in which wives prank their husbands by texting them a photo of a “male night dress” and offer to purchase it for them. They then share their husband’s response. The garment is actually real, and is sold by Wish and Amazon. It’s called the “Comfort Henley Short Sleeve Nightshirt Patchwork Sleep Shirt.” The prank started in an Australian mothers’ group on Facebook. Most men sent back expletive-filled responses saying they would not wear it, while others gave in. One said “Haha for real? I’d look like Ebenezer Scrooge!” Others were simply polite saying they didn’t like it and did not want it.

➢ A gold coin commemorating the assassination of Julius Caesar, minted just two years after the death of the Roman leader, fetched a record-breaking high bid of $3.5 million at an auction in Britain. It bears the image of Marcus Junius Brutus, one of the leaders of Caesar’s assassination, as well as the image of two daggers and the words “Eid Mar,” which means the Ides of March, a reference to the March 15 date of the killing. Nearly 100 similar coins minted in silver are known to exist, but the one that sold for $3.5 million in the late October auction is one of only three known to survive that were minted in gold.

➢ Here’s a new job where you can use all the skills you’ve picked up while slacking off at your current job. The web browser Opera is hiring someone for a two-week gig to just browse the Internet.  They’ll pay someone $9,000 just to go on a two-week adventure of random web surfing and document the whole thing.

If you want to apply, you need to record a video that’s under a minute where you talk about, quote, “the most relevant browsing moment of [your] life.”

➢ Tye Sheridan, Tom Hardy, Pete Davidson and Bill Skarsgard have all joined the cast of “The Things They Carried,” a Vietnam war movie that will be directed by Rupert Sanders and is based on the collection of short stories from Tim O’Brien’s 1990 book. The film is an ensemble project without a true lead, and it’s based on O’Brien’s stories of a platoon of soldiers during Vietnam and their experience on the front lines. Production is expected to begin in early 2021 in Thailand.

Do You Close The Toilet Lid When You Flush?

Research has found that more than half of Brits don’t close the toilet lid when they flush – but a series of gross images show why you shouldn’t be one of them.

To highlight the dangers, Harpic used high-speed specialist camera technology to show that flushing a toilet without closing the lid can propel droplets containing bacteria and viruses on to surfaces in your bathroom up to six feet away.

What looks like a colourful fireworks display is actually aerosol droplets being catapulted out of the toilet pan – which could even be hitting you in the face as you lean over to reach the flush. Harpic revealed that toilet bowl water can remain contaminated for several flushes after being exposed to harmful pathogens.

U.S. ELECTION

After another day of counting mail-in ballots in the key states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada, former Vice President Joe Biden edged close to the 270 electoral votes he needs to win the presidency with the slow erosion of President Trump‘s lead in Pennsylvania and Georgia as the mail-in votes were counted. Biden moved very close to taking over the lead in both states, and with Pennsylvania’s electoral votes, he would go over 270.

But as the votes continued to be counted, Trump took to the podium at the White House briefing room yesterday evening, and in extraordinary remarks, made accusations, without evidence, of voter fraud and false accusations of election theft. Earlier in the day before Trump spoke, Biden had also made brief remarks. He said, in part, “I ask everyone to stay calm. The process is working. It is the will of the voters.”

Trump’s campaign continued to file legal claims against the vote counting in several states yesterday, but judges in Georgia and Michigan quickly dismissed lawsuits filed there.

LUKE BRYAN COUNTS ON HIS SONS FOR FEEDBACK ABOUT HIS MUSIC

Luke Bryan‘s two sons, Bo and Tate, actually have a lot of input when it comes to their dad’s music. Luke says they all often listen to his songs in his truck and the boys quickly develop their favorites, which helps Luke when it comes to including songs on albums and selecting singles. He tells us: [“That feedback is a lot different than publishers, record people. Let’s just say the well can get tainted, you know, but with your children . . . I mean, they’ll insult me and not even realize it. There have been times through the years that Dallas Davidson, he and I will write a song and Dallas will sing the demo because, heck, I wasn’t in town and then the boys will tell me that they like Dallas’ version better than mine (laughs).”]

Luke says that his last chart-topper, “One Margarita,” was at the top of his sons’ list of favorites off his latest album, Born Here Live Here Die Here.

He’s currently climbing the charts with “Down To One.”

Neither Carrie nor Reba responded to the post.
