➢ JOE BIDEN stormed back yesterday, after winning Wisconsin and Michigan. He’s now about two states away from defeating Donald Trump, and Fox News still has him taking Arizona. Five OTHER states are also still too close to call: Nevada, Alaska, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. So AP and Fox have Biden at 264 Electoral College votes, 6 shy of the 270 needed to win.
This was due to the large number of mail-in votes, and the fact that most states don’t allow them to be processed and counted until Election Day, and in some cases not until after the polls CLOSE.
Canada is sympathetic to how incredibly stressful the U.S. election has been, so they’re offering “Emotional Support Canadians” to any Americans who are struggling to cope with the tense finish as the final votes are counted. It’s a joke . . . but some people want to take them up on it.
➢ Two teen girls in Calgary fell through some thin ice on a pond and some men saved them from the freezing water by tying together their turbans into a rope to pull them out and a bystander caught it all on video. He says that in the Sikh faith it’s a big thing to take your turban off but that they didn’t think twice.
➢ A 72-year-old woman in San Antonio has been talking to someone online who claims they’re actor Jason Momoa. And whoever it is has been having her transfer tens of thousands of dollars through her bank account, so it’s obviously a scam. But she’s convinced it’s really him and says they’re in love. Her son got the cops involved, and they’re looking into it.
➢ You may remember way back at the beginning of the pandemic when there were food shortages on certain items. Well, some shortages are starting again.
Baking supplies will soon be in short supply as holiday baking looms and it’s once again cool enough to turn on the oven.
Other items on the list: canned soups (both General Mills and Campbell’s are still behind on production after the increased demand during the first wave of the pandemic),
pop (due to the aluminum can shortage), and finally, Spam (the company that produces it, Hormel,) reports they have 24% less inventory of all Spam products compared to what they had this time last year.
➢ Dave Chappelle is set to host Saturday Night Live this weekend. It marks Chappelle’s first time hosting the show since he made his debut the weekend that Donald Trump became President. During that show, Chappelle wished the former host of “Celebrity Apprentice” luck, and added: “I’m going to give him a chance, and we, the historically disenfranchised, demand that he give us one too”. He won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his appearance.

Can You Guess the Germiest Surfaces at the Grocery Store?
What do you think is the highest-risk thing you touch at the grocery store when it comes to the virus and other germs?
Researchers in Canada went to 24 different stores and swabbed stuff to see how dirty everything was. And the big surprise was that shopping cart handles AREN’T that bad. But this other spot was pretty filthy . . .
- Pin pads. They’re the germiest surface, because everyone uses them and they’re not wiped down enough. So have your hand sanitizer ready when you pay.
- The handles on shopping baskets. Probably because they’re not being wiped down as much as the handles on carts.
- The front of your shopping cart. People touch the front edge to pull or push their cart. And it’s not wiped down as much as the handle is.
- Freezer door handles. Again, lots of people grab them, and they’re not wiped down.
- The baby seat in shopping carts. That plastic flap part didn’t have very many germs. Probably because it’s wiped down fairly often. And not that many people touch it.
- The handle of your shopping cart. Again, not as bad because it’s one of the spots employees wipe down the most. And customers sometimes do it too.
FOUR RANDOM FACTS
- The Cliffs Notes version of “The Scarlet Letter”outsells the actual book almost four to one.

She’s now sold around a thousand copies since June.

Woman Files a Legal Complaint Against Her New Husband When She Finds Out He’s Bald
A 27-year-old woman in Mumbai, India married a 29-year-old man back in September. And the day after their wedding, he revealed a secret . . . he’s BALD.
The couple, who live in India, had an arranged marriage last month. In her complaint, the woman said she was shocked to learn that her husband had been wearing a wig, a fact that had not been revealed to her before the marriage took place.
So now she’s filed a legal complaint against him where she says she never would’ve married him if she’d known he was bald.
The police are looking into whether there was fraud here.

FAKE COMMUTE:
A daily commute, whether by car, bus or subway, can be a big pain. But now, as many of us near 8 months of working from home, the novelty of rolling out of bed and going straight to work has worn off, and a growing number of people are embracing the so-called “fake commute”.
That’s right. Some are arranging things so they can fit in a walk before work, some do some indoor exercise, some do a simple 15-minute meditation before kicking things into gear for the workday. Some do their fake commute AFTER work, before shifting into the role of parent or spouse for the evening.
What’s the point? David Zweig, professor at the University of Toronto’s school of management, says a “fake commute” is a good way to psychologically separate or recover from the demands at work, not only allowing us to think about how we are going to approach our day (when the fake commute takes place before work), but also giving us time to “switch off and think about something other than work”.
He says carving out that time – no matter how you decide to spend it – is good for recovery and important in stress management.

- Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was put on the Reserve/Covid-19 list Wednesday (November 4th), however his wife said on social media that he’d tested negative. His status is unknown for the Lions game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The reserve/Covid-19 list is for players who either test positive or have been in close contact with an infected person. Stafford had been on the list three months ago, but was removed when it was discovered his test had been a false positive.
The Denver Broncos placed DL Shelby Harris on the list after he was exposed to someone who tested positive and the San Francisco 49ers put four players on the reserve/Covid-19 list yesterday (November 4th), and said they wouldn’t play in tonight’s game against the Green Bay Packers. The 49ers will also be without quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo tonight, after he injured his ankle in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, and tight end George Kittle, who hurt his foot in the same game.
- The owner of the famous Strand Bookstore in New York saidit might have to close down after the pandemic cut sales by 70%. But then within 24 hours, thousands of orders had been placed online, and people were lined up outside to buy books.
- Jim Gaffigan jokes about when the leaves change colors in the fall. He says it’s weird that we love to look at it, because it’s basically a bunch of leaves on their deathbeds.

What Do Darius Rucker and Reba McEntire Have Up Their Sleeves for the CMAs?
DARIUS RUCKER was talking about next week’s CMAs. We already know he’ll be performing with his co-host Reba McEntire, but he was in “tease mode” and wouldn’t go into detail.
Quote, “I’m lucky, I get to do something really special with Reba. We’ve got something that we’re really excited about, and no, I can’t tell you.” He did reveal that he and Lady A will be performing “Beers and Sunshine”.
He was VERY impressed with how the CMAs are handling the virtual thing. Quote, “We’re really excited and just blown away about how the social distancing and how careful everybody’s being.
“All the performers will be there, the nominees will be there . . . everybody will be social distanced and spread out. It’ll be the first time really the country music family has been in one room all year.”
KANE BROWN RELEASES ‘WORSHIP YOU’ VIDEO STARRING WIFE, DAUGHTER
Kane Brown has released the video for “Worship You,” starring his wife, Katelyn, and one-year-old daughter, Kingsley. The clip was filmed in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Kane tells us that “Worship You” was originally written with his wife in mind, but it made perfect sense to include his daughter as well. [“’Worship You’ is basically ‘Heaven’ 2.0, it’s saying that your girl, your wife, is your everything. You know that she don’t walk on water or anything like that, but you basically praise her. Originally it was thinking about Kate you know, but then I did this video that I put on my Instagram, it was me, Kate and Kingsley and I was singing it to Kingsley. So I was like you know, this song could be about my daughter. It’s basically just worshiping my family now, they’re both my girls and I’d do anything for them. Worship the ground they walk on.”]
Kane was nominated for Male Country Artist at the upcoming 2020 American Music Awards.
He is set to perform during the Dallas Cowboys’ nationally televised halftime show during the Thanksgiving Day game on FOX. The performance is in partnership with The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign.

Luke Bryan Used Tim Tebow’s Heisman Trophy to Put a Curse on the Florida Gators
If the Georgia Bulldogs beat the Florida Gators on Saturday, it’ll be magic. Or something like that. That’s because LUKE BRYAN used Tim Tebow’s Heisman trophy to put a curse on the Gators.
Tim was their quarterback in 2007 when he won the award. Luke’s been a Bulldogs fan his whole life . . . and he posted a clip on Instagram yesterday of himself putting his curse on the trophy, which was “wearing” a Bulldogs hoodie.
How did Luke get the Heisman? His wife Caroline won it at a charity auction last year. They were supposed to have it for six months, but Tim dragged his feet and didn’t deliver it until last week.
Luke said, quote, “I feel it was an effort to bring bad mojo into my household, so just to let you know, [here] Tim’s Heisman just to prove he made good on his promise . . . but I’ve got this all week to put a curse on the Florida Gators.”
