CK Mornings

➢ Last week, someone in Tampa, Florida heard their neighbors yelling, quote, “Shoot!  Shoot!” and “I dare you to shoot!”  So they called the cops.

Four cops came to the scene to see what was happening.

And . . . it turned out the people yelling “shoot” were watching the Tampa Bay Lightning HOCKEY GAME and were screaming at the players to shoot the puck.

Fortunately everyone laughed it off.

Game 6 is tonight Tampa leading the series with Dallas 3 – 2.

➢ New York City is going to officially ban defecating on subway trains.  Their current set of rules only talk about public urination.

➢ A woman in Alabama was sleeping last week when Hurricane Sally blew down a tree which crashed through her roof and pinned her to her bed.  And then a bunch of BEES from a hive in the tree started swarming her.  Firefighters managed to get her out, and she’s okay.  She ended up with a concussion and about 20 bee stings.

➢ Disney has postponed almost all of its films scheduled for release in 2020 due to the coronavirus crisis, including one of the most anticipated movies of the year, “Black Widow”, which was most recently set for release Nov. 6. Other changes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Four slate of movies include “Eternals” which has had its release date moved from February 2021 to next November.

➢ A new special, “Joe Exotic: Before He Was King” premieres tonight on Investigation Discovery.  It tells the lifelong story of what sent Joe down a path of depravity and conspiracy to commit murder.   Here’s an exclusive preview, as we learn that animals getting out of his control began at a very young age.  (The special includes family home movies, interviews, psychoanalysis, and the very dark story of Joe Exotic, “The Tiger King.”)

TODAY IS……………….

  • “Drink Beer Day”, a day to raise a glass of your favorite ale or lager and celebrate one of the oldest man-made beverages. It’s been produced since the Neolithic Era and by commercial breweries as far back as 1040 AD

  • “Good Neighbor Day”, celebrated since 2003 to recognize and appreciate the nice folks next door. Hopefully, one of those good neighbors is you!

Tom Hanks Had to Pay for Some of His “Forrest Gump” Scenes . . .

TOM HANKS made a lot of money from “Forrest Gump” . . . but that’s because he had to PAY for some of it.

In a new interview, Tom says that he and director ROBERT ZEMECKIS covered the cost of some scenes that the studio didn’t want to pay for. One of them was the part where Forrest runs across the country.  Paramount said it was too expensive to film, but Tom and Robert really wanted it.

There was another, unspecified scene where Paramount didn’t want to spring for the insurance, so they stepped up again.

In return for putting their own money in, Hanks and Zemeckis asked Paramount to give them a bigger share of the profits.  And because of that, Tom ended up making $65 million off “Forrest Gump”.

  1. The pandemic has changed the way birds sing.  At least city birds.  In general, they tend to sing louder than they did a few decades ago, because there’s so much noise pollution.  But that stopped when everything shut down in March.  And they immediately went back to their old way of singing.

  1. This could be big for seniors, especially in poorer countries.  Researchers at Georgia Tech wanted to make the cheapest hearing aidpossible.  And they came up with one that costs less than a buck.  All the components can be bought for a grand total of 98 cents.

Someone Tried to Steal Joe Montana’s Grandchild from His House . . . While He Was There

Someone tried to kidnap one of NFL Hall of Famer JOE MONTANA’s grandchildren . . . right out from under his nose.

At around 5:00 P.M. Saturday, a 39-year-old woman walked right into a house that Joe and his wife Jennifer were staying in, and picked the baby up out of a playpen.

But Joe and Jennifer saw her, and tried to reason with her and de-escalate the situation.  When that didn’t work, a scuffle ensued . . . and Jennifer was able to take the baby back.

The woman took off, but cops caught her.

Joe Tweeted, quote, “Thank you to everyone who has reached out.  Scary situation, but thankful that everybody is doing well.  We appreciate respect for our privacy at this time.”

Check Out Lauren Alaina’s Rug That Used to Be the Family’s Cow

LAUREN ALAINA gave “People” a tour of her house in Nashville that she bought earlier this year . . . and then decorated during the quarantine.  It has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and one rug that used to be a cow.

Quote, “This rug was a family cow.  My stepdad loved her.  When she passed away he made a rug out of her.  And then when he passed away I inherited her, ’cause I loved this rug.  I was always obsessed with it and he told my mom he wanted me to have it.”

There’s also a really cool vintage record player, a huge Dolly Parton painting, and a couple of framed Elvis records.  Does it seem like every country artist these days builds a recording studio in their house?  Hers looks more like a den, but with acoustic panels.

And who doesn’t want their own personal dressing room?  The walls are lined with shoes, clothes, and special items like the cowgirl boots she wore on “American Idol”, and the dress she was wearing when Reba McEntire gave her a CMT Award.

(Here’s video.  The cow rug is at 0:35 . . . the recording studio at 2:29 . . . and the dressing room is at 4:13.)

DUSTIN LYNCH LOVES THE ‘CHALLENGE’ OF CLIMBING THE CHARTS

Four albums into his career, Dustin Lynch says he’s in a really good place, musically. He’s found his niche in the world of Country music, and he says that if fans like what they hear now, there’s plenty more where that came from. [“Over the years I’ve discovered what I like singing on stage and what I feel like is believable and fun to do so I’m just gonna keep doing more off that. I’m more comfortable with what I think I’m supposed to be making but there’s never a guarantee. I think that’s what keeps this business fun is you’re only as good as your next song so there’s always that fun challenge of starting out on the chart and trying to make it to the top.”]

His latest is “Momma’s House” the third single from Dustin’s 2020 album, Tullahoma.
