➢ The remainder of the school year in Ontario is now cancelled.
➢ A news report is going viral about an annual beach event in south Texas called the “Go Topless Jeep Weekend.” The Jeeps are topless, not the girls. Here’s a couple of the girls that were there.
➢ Evander Holyfield confirmed that he is in talks to come out of retirement for a third fight against Mike Tyson. Despite hanging up his gloves in 2005, 53-year-old Tyson has posted training video showing he still has frightening speed and power. And 57-year old Holyfield, who retired in 2011, has also been seen displaying impressive form in preparation for what could be a 2 or 3 round charity match. Holyfield, who had already been in discussions for his own exhibition return, closed his training video with the same statement as Tyson, simply saying, “I’m back.”
➢ According to a rep from Sotheby’s auctions, upscale jewelers are doing well – very well. What they have discovered is that among wealthy clients, buying jewels serves as a sort of pick-me-up. But some are also finding it necessary to do household chores themselves for the first time ever. With drivers and gardeners and housekeepers and nannies in isolation elsewhere, many of the ultra-rich have found themselves in the awkward position of looking after their own cooking, laundry… even cleaning the cat box.
➢ A guy in England says his landlord is forcing him to move out during the pandemic . . . and the leasing agent asked him to shoot a video of the inside to show future tenants. So he made a video like they asked, but only focused on the bad stuff about the place.
➢ A sing-along version of “Grease” will air on CBS in June, the same night the 74th annual Tony Awards were originally scheduled to air. The Grease sing-along edition will feature pop-up lyrics so families can sing their favorite songs together. The 1978 film, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, features songs such as ‘Grease’, ‘You’re the One That I Want’, ‘Summer Nights’, ‘Sandy’ and ‘Greased Lightnin’. ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You’, which was written exclusively for the movie, was nominated for the Best Original Song Oscar. The film, which is based on the 1971 musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 7.

Baseball Is Outlawing Spitting and Hugs?
Major League Baseball is continuing to put together a plan for a return . . . and the latest rules will present a BIG challenge. The players won’t be able to SPIT on the field.
ESPN says that there’s a new draft of the league’s health-and-safety manual, and there’s talk of processing upward of 10,000 COVID-19 tests per week, overhauling stadiums and in-game settings to encourage social distancing . . .
Prohibiting high-fives, fist bumps, and hugs . . . along with spitting, tobacco use and chewing sunflower seeds.
Fielders will be, quote, “encouraged to retreat several steps away from the base runner” between pitches.
Coaches won’t be allowed to approach base runners or umpires, and players will be told not to socialize with opponents.
Also each ball will be thrown away after it is touched by multiple players, and along those lines, throwing the ball around the infield will be discouraged.

GOOD NEWS
The artist Banksy surprised a British hospital by donating a painting this week. It’s a picture of a boy playing with a nurse superhero toy instead of a Batman or Spider-Man toy.
A guy in Belgium who has access to a crane has been taking it to nursing homes, so people can visit family members at their windows on high floors. He was driving by a home recently . . . saw a guy yelling up to his mom from the sidewalk . . . and realized he could help.
A couple in Michigan both got the virus and had to be hospitalized separately. The wife ended up on a ventilator for several weeks, and they couldn’t visit each other at all. But they both beat it, and had a pretty emotional reunion last week.

RETURN TO SENDER
A Fredericton man had to pick up their garbage after illegally dumping it in the ditch near a farm.
Chris White had about 30 to 40 pieces of garbage thrown into the grass in front of his family’s farm. When he went to clean up the mess he noticed something — a shipping receipt.
“I was picking up a Nike box and it was so wet that the lid actually tore off of it when I grabbed it, and, inside of it was a slip with his name and address,” so he brought the garbage back to its owner. He showed up at 7:30 in the morning and said at first the person denied it but quickly changed his mood when White showed him the evidence — the shipping receipt.
“He immediately admitted to it. So, I kindly asked him to get his garbage back off of my truck.”
White said the person unloaded the garbage from his truck within a few minutes, and he hasn’t heard from him since.
White said it’s not the first time someone has illegally dumped near the family farm, and it seems to be a recurring issue in the spring.
He said he could have gone to the authorities, which might have led to a costly fine, but chose to teach a lesson instead.

RESTAURANTS
A Virginia restaurant manager has come up with an ingenious way to fill seats and enforce social distancing rules at the same time. He plans to populate his establishment with life-size mannequins when it is allowed to re-open late this month. Not only that, he plans to deck out his dining dolls in 1940s fashions, and instruct waiters to serve them wine and interact with them.
A restaurant in South Carolina is using blow-up dolls to block seats and keep people six feet apart.
Is it okay for restaurants to tack on a coronavirus surcharge to help cover rising costs? Some restaurant owners in Missouri have started doing it and adding 5% to each bill. The reaction has been mixed.

Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning Will Golf Together for Charity
There haven’t been many sports over the past six weeks, but an interesting GOLF competition is happening later this month.
Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning are golfing together to raise money for coronavirus-related causes, including Direct Relief, the American Red Cross, Save Small Business, and the All-In Challenge.
It’s called “The Match: Champions for Charity”, and it’ll be simulcast on TNT, TBS, truTV, and HLN on Sunday, May 24th at 3:00 P.M.
Tiger and Peyton will go up against Phil and Tom . . . and the competition will include: A “Best Ball” format on the Front Nine, and a “Modified Alternate Shot” format on the Back Nine.
There will be several on-course challenges, and the golfers will be mic’d up.
Warner Media and the golfers have said they will donate $10 million to Covid-19 relief.

DID YOU KNOW:
Research over the last few years reveals that tree nuts — including almonds, cashews, walnuts, and pistachios — have fewer calories than previously estimated.
According to a new calculation, one ounce of almonds is only 129 calories, 19% fewer than the previously accepted calculation. An ounce of cashews is 137 calories rather than 163 (a 16% drop). Pistachios’ and walnuts’ calories dropped 5 and 21%, respectively.
Scientists say the discrepancy is due to our bodies inability to break down the cell walls of nuts, leading to a large percentage of calories being eliminated as waste.

It was a tough day for country concerts yesterday as MULTIPLE artists postponed their 2020 tours because of the worldwide pandemic.
They are: Thomas Rhett, Reba McEntire, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, and Sam Hunt.
FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE’S FANS CONTRIBUTE TO VIDEO FOR ‘I LOVE MY COUNTRY’
Florida Georgia Line is celebrating unity during this time of social distancing with the new video for their hit single “I Love My Country.” The duo released the crowd-sourced clip on Friday (May 8th), which was compiled of videos from fans who answered the call to their #FGLCountryChallenge.
“I Love My Country” is a taste of what’s to come from the duo’s next album. Brian tells us the song is something that’s been stuck in their heads for a while and they just wanted to get it out. [“We’ve been walking around muttering that for about a year and a half so, we’re all in the same boat. But no, it’s a good thing. TRAVIS DENNING RELEASES NEW EP
Travis Denning released his debut EP, Beer’s Better Cold,(Friday, May 15th). Travis co-wrote five out of the six songs on the project, including his current hit single “After A Few.
And what will fans learn about Travis from listening to the EP?: [“Obviously they’re gonna find out that beer is usually the number one choice of beverage for me seeing as how I got like nine beer songs on there but I think really what people will learn is that we as people have kind of been through the same thing. We’ve been through heartbreak, we’ve been through love, we’ve been through a relationship that you don’t need anymore and we’ve had some of the best times of our lives with the people we surround ourselves with. There’s a piece of me in all of them and with that being the case I think a lot of people will see a piece of themselves in there.”]
Travis was set to join Sam Hunt on his Southside Summer Tour scheduled to kick off in July but that has now been cancelled.
