A 42-year-old guy in Australia was out hunting when he walked through an area with shallow water.  And he thought he stepped on a log, but it was really a 15-foot crocodile that spun around and bit him in the CROTCH.  He started punching it in the nose and managed to get away.  He did an interview later on from his hospital bed.

Experts say Hybrid “super pigs” may soon become a problem in Southwestern Ontario,

The result of cross-breeding between wild and domestic pigs, this invasive species has been spotted throughout the region – with confirmed sightings from Windsor to Brantford and the group that tracks sightings throughout the province, has a photo of a wild pig taken on Sept. 1 just east of Leamington.

“This is an invasive species originally brought to North America (in the 1980s) for meat production,” said Ryan Brook, a professor at the University of Saskatchewan.

They are currently completely out of control (in Saskatchewan). This is exactly what you don’t want in Ontario.  “They will literally eat almost anything,” Brook said. “They’ll go into fields and eat crops and just destroy them. They use their nose to tear the ground up, so the damage is especially devastating to crops and ecosystems.”

While still rare in Southwestern Ontario, the pigs are “a looming problem,” says Larry Davis, an Ontario Federation of Agriculture representative. Built to survive, these hardy hogs will have little difficulty enduring a Southwestern Ontario winter, he said.

GOOD NEWS

A guy in North Carolina named Ronnie Foster has been fighting colon cancer.

And he was recently heading to his final round of chemo.  So he was already in a pretty good mood.

Then on his way to his appointment, he stopped at a gas station, bought a one-dollar lottery ticket, and won five bucks.

So then he bought two more tickets.  And one of them ended up hitting for 200 GRAND.

He claimed his prize on Friday, and ended up with $141,501 after taxes.

Ronnie says he has pretty good health insurance, which covered most of his cancer treatments.  But he still ended up with some hefty medical bills. So he’s using some of the money to pay them off and saving the rest.

50 Most Important Websites of All Time, According to “Popular Mechanics”

The internet was born 50 years ago this week. On that day in 1969, a computer scientist and his graduate student at UCLA sent a message to a computer at Stanford Research Institute over what was then known as ARPANET. The program was initially designed for military communications. The message was supposed to be “login,” but the system crashed after two letters so the actual first message sent over the internet was “lo.”

“Popular Mechanics” just released a list of the 50 most important websites of all time.  They say these are the sites that have made the Internet a, quote, “wonderful, weird, occasionally terrible, but always transformative place to be.”

Their list is in chronological order, so the first entry is the first website ever, which was published at CERN in Switzerland explaining what the “World Wide Web” was.

Some of the other ’90s sites include AOL . . . Amazon . . . Yahoo . . . eBay . . . Match.com . . . Craigslist . . . Hamster Dance . . . and Google.

Then as they get into the 2000s, some of their picks are Wikipedia . . . Myspace . . . Facebook . . . YouTube . . . Reddit . . . Twitter . . . BuzzFeed . . . WikiLeaks . . . and Pornhub.

There aren’t many from the past decade on the list, but they did include GoFundMe . . . Pinterest . . . the Bitcoin wallet site Coinbase . . . and, most recently, the subscription-only sports journalism site The Athletic.

NBA’s Tallest Player Suffered a Concussion After Hitting His Head on a “Low Ceiling”

If you’re 7-foot-5 and 23 years old, you’re pretty much GUARANTEED a spot on an NBA roster . . . but life isn’t a piece of cake.  Or a delicious taco.

Boston Celtics center Tacko Fall is the tallest player in the NBA.  (And yes, his name is pronounced “Taco”.)  He’s originally from Senegal, and on Saturday he made his NBA debut, where he performed a near STANDING DUNK. It was good to see Tacko in action, because last week he suffered a head injury . . . due to a LOW CEILING.  (!!!)

According to reports, he’d just finished washing his hands, when he slammed his head on the ceiling. The next morning, he felt sick, so he went into concussion protocol.  He missed Boston’s first two games, but was cleared to play on Saturday night.  He logged four minutes, and scored four points with three rebounds.

Tacko is expected to have a minimal role this season . . . he was signed as an undrafted rookie over the summer.

(For what it’s worth, some reports say Tacko is 7-foot-6, and some say he is 24 years old.)

RECYCLING A GREAT IDEA:
A young Dutch inventor is widening his efforts to clean up floating plastic from the Pacific Ocean, this time turning his attention to rivers, using a new device to catch it before it ever reaches the seas.

25-year-old Boyan Slat, a university dropout, founded The Ocean Cleanup to develop a system he invented when he was 18 that catches plastic waste floating in the ocean. Now, he has unveiled his next step:

A floating solar-powered device called the “Interceptor” that scoops plastic out of rivers as it drifts past. He calls rivers “the arteries that carry the trash from land to sea. Three of the machines already are deployed to Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam — and a fourth is heading to the Dominican Republic.

9 million tons of plastic waste, including plastic bottles, bags, toys and other items flow annually into the ocean from beaches, rivers and creeks.

FLORIDA GEORGIA LOOKING TO COLLABORATE OUTSIDE OF MUSIC – (10/10/2019)

Well known for their collaborations with other artists, the duo Florida Georgia Line is looking to collaborate beyond music. Brian Kelley dropped some hints about that. He wouldn’t say exactly what he was working on, but he did say that he wants to work with entrepreneur, Rob Dyrdek:

[“I have a non-music-related interest that would be cool, somebody that blew our mind. Rob Dyrdek came to a show in Vegas and I just think he’s next level. I think as a businessman, as a creative as a trailblazer in his own right. I think he’s very smart and I know he’s got a company, I think the Dyrdek Machine.  So, they’re creating brands and creating content and pushing the meter forward in terms of business and creativity, and I think that would be really fun to collab with him on many platforms, many levels. I don’t know what it would be but ya boy got ideas for days.”]

Rob Dyrdek is an entrepreneur, actor, producer, reality TV personality, and former professional skateboarder. FGL will be in Vegas for a four-day continuation of their residency at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood, November 6, 8, 9 and 12.

MIRANDA LAMBERT’S ‘WILDCARD’ ALBUM IN STORES TODAY

Miranda Lambert drops her seventh studio album today (Friday, Nov. 1st). Wildcard features 14 new songs, including her current Top 14 and climbing hit, “It All Comes Out In The Wash.”

The sassy side of Miranda is definitely back, while she tells us the project as a whole reminds her of her 2005 debut album. [“The people were like, ‘We want a Miranda song,’ whatever that means and now I feel like, ‘Okay, well whatever that means it’s on this record (laughs).’ I think it was just the sarcasm and the feistiness and this record reminds me more of Kerosene than any record I’ve done in between because I kind of approached it with the same energy and open-mindedness. I think having a new producer and just having a new face in my life and spending time in New York City and getting happy, all of those played a factor in the end game of this record and the sound of it.”]

Miranda is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year at the CMA Awards on November 13th in Nashville.

GARTH BROOKS DEBUTS ‘DIVE BAR’ VIDEO TODAY

The video for Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton‘s Top 20 duet, “Dive Bar,” makes its premiere today (Friday, November 1st). The clip will debut on Facebook at 10 a.m. ET.

[“To see these guys play this thing totally under water in full scuba gear, and then, of course, having ‘Left Shark’ and ‘Right Shark’ jump in (laughs) from the Super Bowl. Special effects and everything – it took a while to get it done, but it’s a blast. It’s funny. I know everybody that’s seen it on our end has sat there and laughed and stuff because it’s about what music’s supposed to do. It’s about to make you laugh, smile and sing along.”]

He and Blake are set to perform “Dive Bar” live on the CMA Awards on November 13th on ABC.

His The Legacy Collection boxed set is released today.

GARTH BROOKS saw a kid’s “Garth costume” on social media, and loved it so much he invited him to his concert in Knoxville, Tennessee on November 16th.  And when you see the costume, you’ll understand.

He’s sporting one of Garth’s signature black & white shirts along with a white cowboy hat, and he’s WEARING a replica of Knoxville’s Neyland Stadium around his waist.  It looks like an inflatable swimming pool that was painted to match.
