Mr. Rogers Acceptance Speech
With “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” hitting theaters this weekend, we found the acceptance speech that Mr. Fred Rogers gave at the 1997 Emmy Awards.
He was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Emmy, and in his usual humble style, he began by calling on everyone to honor “special ones who’ve loved us into being.”
He even asked for 10 seconds of silence so everyone could think of the people who have helped them become who they are.
