This might make most people burn the house down, not write about it online, but to each his own. Michael Diamond says he was recently gifted an antique ventriloquist doll that was made by a prison in a World War II Stalag II-B camp. Diamond noticed that the glass cabinet he keeps the dummy in kept opening up, so he set up a GoPro camera to film it during the night. He caught footage of the door of the cabinet opening, and then the mouth and eyes of the dummy moving.He says he’s not scared of the dummy, who is named Mr. Fritz, but admitted he’s “wary” of it and keeps it locked away in a room full of other collector’s items.

A Hong Kong businessman set a new record for the city when he sold a coveted downtown parking space for a total $969,000. Johnny Cheung, who formerly owned four parking spaces in front of the 79-story office tower The Center, previously sold three spaces for sums in the high six digits, but the final spot ended up fetching the highest price: $969,000. Cheung did not identify the buyer, but said it is someone with office space inside the skyscraper, which has only 40 total parking spaces available. The amount is the largest ever paid for a parking space in the city. The parking space is believed to now be the most expensive in the world, costing more than three times the median cost of a home in Hong Kong.

David Beckham and “Friends” star Courteney Cox will both cameo in an upcoming episode of “Modern Family’s” 11th and final season. The pair will guest star in an episode called “The Prescott,” which will air early next year. According to a rep, the two, who play themselves, are “paired in a celebrity bowling tournament and find themselves getting drawn into a farce the family descends into, involving bowling, 80s aerobicize classes, a terrifying pool slide, and three side by side hot tubs.”

GOOD NEWS
A 15-year-old girl in England named Taryn Everdeen recently sent a letter to her favorite author . . . a woman named Carolyn Meyer who writes young adult novels.
And even though Taryn’s a teenager and Carolyn’s in her 80s, they hit it off . . . and ended up co-writing a BOOK together.
Carolyn lives in New Mexico, and was impressed with Taryn’s creativity after she checked out some videos she’d posted on YouTube.
So she wrote her back, and they started talking. Then they came up with an idea for a time-travel book about a kid in modern-day America, and a girl in 16th-century England.
Carolyn eventually invited Taryn to come stay with her for the summer, and sort of be her mentor. And Taryn’s parents said yes.
This all happened over the course of a few years. Taryn’s 18 now, and Carolyn’s 84. But they just finished their book. And now Carolyn’s pitching it to her publisher.
She says it’s probably the last book she’ll write. So she’s kind of passing the torch. Her career’s ending as Taryn’s is just beginning.

Dream Job’ Offers $1,000 to Watch 30 Disney Movies In 30 Days
A website is celebrating the upcoming release of Disney by offering a “dream job” opportunity for five fans looking to make $1,000 by watching 30 movies in 30 days.
Reviews.org said the five selected applicants will each receive $1,000, a year’s subscription to the new streaming service and a selection of Disney-related movie watching supplies, including a blanket, cups and a Pixar popcorn popper.
The $1,000 will be deposited directly into the winners’ bank accounts. Applications, which are being accepted through Nov. 7, consist of answering a list of questions on the contest website and making a video review of a Disney movie.

FACEBOOK WILL START BANNING LIKES
Facebook has confirmed that they will be the next major platform to start hiding other users’ likes. The platform says that they’d like to ban likes in order to make users feel happier and less self conscious online.
With the new feature, instead of a number of “likes” being shown, they are all lumped together under “other.” Users can still like other people’s photos, they just can’t see how many likes the photo has.
Alex Light, an Instagrammer from London with over 44,000 followers thinks that the move is a great idea. She said, “I think that eliminating the visibility of likes is positive – it’s a mean of shifting focus from likes to good, engaging content.
According to Daily Mail, the new feature will be rolled out in July 2020.

The prognosis for the stethoscope is not good. World-renowned cardiologist Dr. Eric Topol says that the tool used by doctors for 200 years is now nothing more than an obsolete pair of “rubber tubes.”
Today, medical professionals have access to hand-held devices that use ultrasound technology, artificial intelligence and smartphone apps instead of doctors’ ears to help detect leaks, murmurs, abnormal rhythms and other problems in the heart, lungs and elsewhere.
Some of these instruments can even produce images of the beating heart or create electrocardiogram graphs. Experts say the new devices are nearly as easy to use as stethoscopes, and are much more useful as a diagnostic instrument.

ERIC CHURCH ‘DOUBLES DOWN’ AND CELEBRATES TWO NUMBER ONE HITS
Eric Church celebrated his last two Number One hits — “Round Here Buzz” and “Some of It” — with a Double Down party in Nashville.
Eric and his co-writers on both songs gathered with members of the music industry to honor the successes, which dated back to 2017, in the case of “Round Here Buzz.” “Some of It” topped the charts in July, giving Eric his eighth Number One.

Brett Eldredge is a huge fan of dressing up in costumes, so needless to say he loves Halloween. [“I’m a costume guy, so I used to try to make sure we had a show booked around Halloween because me and the whole band could dress up on stage. I’ve dressed as a cave man on stage, I’ve dressed as Lt. Dangle from Reno 911. At Christmas I went downtown on Broadway dressed as disco Santa with my friends and somehow danced in the middle of the clubs and the honky tonks while they were playing my songs and I had my complete face covered and no one figured it out and that’s a lot of fun. That’s why I love to wear wigs and go in the crowds cause you get to be someone else for a bit and just completely weird people out and they don’t realize at all which I love.”]
Brett kicks off his Glow holiday tour on Dec. 4th & 5th at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The run wraps up on Dec. 21st in Chicago.
MIDLAND’S MOST MEMORABLE HALLOWEEN WAS WITH THOMAS RHETT
The guys in Midland are always up for a good time, and they definitely had one on Halloween in 2018 while on tour with Thomas Rhett. Mark Wystrach and Cameron Duddy tell us about their favorite Halloween experience, which they hope to replicate this week. [“I think, for me it was on tour with Thomas Rhett last year in Sacramento. Sacramento takes their Halloween very seriously, and they have one of the largest costume stores in the world, I think, and Thomas said everybody’s gettin’ dressed up for it. So, Cameron was dressed as a sheik, Jess was dressed (pharaoh) as a pharaoh and I was dressed as, uhh . . . (Cameron) The Burger King. (Mark) As a king. (Cameron) Oh. (Mark) I wouldn’t say the Burger King, okay, but I was thinking like Prince Charming or something like that. But we came out and … we also decided to have a couple drinks. (Cameron) We saved all the outfits, too, and we’ve got ‘em for this Halloween. (Mark) That was fun.”]
