A guy in a small fishing boat got drunk and purposely rammed a much bigger boat on the American side of Lake St. Clair over the weekend. The couple on the large boat, who do not want their identity revealed for fear of retribution, said they don’t know the man on the boat who attacked them and they were on their way back to the dock when they noticed him following them.
The retired couple on the bigger boat posted the video on Facebook, and it’s pretty crazy . . . he gets the whole front of his boat up onto the back of theirs. They say they don’t know him, or why he did it. The 39-year-old man was arraigned Monday on charges of operating while intoxicated and malicious destruction of property. Here’s the sheriff’s office with a warning.

An American ice cream company is working with police to hunt down a woman seen in a viral video opening a tub and taking a lick before returning it to the supermarket’s freezer.
In the video, a young woman can be seen pulling off the lid of a tub of Blue Bell Ice Cream and taking a lick then putting it back as a man’s voice eggs her on.
The nine-second clip has racked up more than 11 million views since it was shared on Twitter on Saturday.
Several Twitter users questioned why Blue Bell Creameries doesn’t come with a protective seal on their products.
Blue Bell also addressed customers’ concerns about the seal on their products.
“During production, our half gallons are flipped upside down and sent to a hardening room where the ice cream freezes to the lid creating a natural seal. The lids are frozen tightly to the carton. Any attempt at opening the product should be noticeable,”.
It remains unclear where the video was shot and the identity of the woman featured in it.

BEAR BREAKS INTO CALIFORNIA HOME, TRASHES LAUNDRY ROOM
A California man captured video of a bear breaking into his home and trashing the laundry room. Kenneth Morse says he heard commotion inside his home on Sunday night (June 30th) and then discovered the bear in the laundry room. He took some photos of the bear through the window of the room, and shared them on Facebook. He says the bear knocked over the washing machine, causing water to flow into the room, and even ripped up a portion of the ceiling. Local authorities eventually set the bear free.
RACCOON KNOCKS OUT ELECTRICITY IN ILLINOIS CITY
This was one lucky raccoon. Officials in Springfield, Illinois, says a curious raccoon broke into an electrical cabinet early Monday (July 1st) and damaged equipment. This knocked out power to 211 customers downtown, including some government facilities. The raccoon survived his brush with fate.

Three inmates at a jail in St. Paul, Minnesota are being called heroes after they saved another inmate who was suicidal recently.
Deonte Blackwell, Austin Dirkx, and Rodolfo Hernandez del Angel saw the guy climb up onto a railing above the common area. And it looked like he was about to jump.
So they tried to talk him down while Deonte ran and grabbed a laundry cart that was nearby. And when the guy DID jump, they managed to CATCH him in it. So he only ended up with a twisted ankle.
There’s footage of the whole thing, and the ledge doesn’t look that high. Maybe 20 feet, tops. But a different inmate died two years ago doing the same thing.
Deonte, Austin, and Rodolfo are all in for non-violent crimes . . . two for drunk driving, and one for drugs. And the sheriff decided to meet them in person to say thanks, and wish them luck when they get out.
The jail’s also planning to put up fencing on the second level, to prevent this from happening again.

60% of Us Can’t Fix a Flat Tire . . . and 41% Don’t Even Know Which Part Is the Engine?
A new survey found 68% of cars currently have at least one thing wrong with them. And when people were asked whether they could handle relatively simple fixes . . . like changing a tire . . . the answer for most was a resounding NOPE.
Here are six fixes, and how many of us feel “extremely confident” we could do them . . .
- Could you add windshield washer fluid to your car? 30% aren’t sure they could.
- Could you replace your windshield wipers? 52% don’t know if they could handle it.
- Could you jump start your car if the battery died? 53% don’t know if they could.
- Could you put a spare tire on? 61% aren’t sure. One in five don’t even know how to use a gauge to check the tire pressure.
- Could you replace a blown fuse? 63% aren’t sure they could do it.
- Could you change your own oil? 67% said no.
Now here’s the craziest stat.
Researchers showed people different photos of car parts. And 41% couldn’t even identify which part was the ENGINE.

Would You Lie and Steal If You Could Get Away with It?
A new survey asked people if they LIE on a regular basis . . . and four out of 10 said yes.
The survey also laid out some ethically questionable scenarios to see what people would do, and here are the results . . .
- 53% of people wouldn’t say anything if they got too much change back at a store.
- 48% would pocket cash that someone else left in an ATM.
- 33% say they’d keep a LOT of money that didn’t belong to them, roughly $325,000, if they knew they could get away with it.
- 33% would keep a gadget or lost item they found on a bus.
- And only 30% would tell a friend if they found out that person’s significant other was cheating on them.

PEOPLE SAY TAKING A VACATION IMPROVES THEIR MENTAL HEALTH
A poll of more than 10,000 TravelZoo members from various countries, including the US, reveals the following:
83% say taking a vacation has a positive effect on their mental health
70% say they are incorporating wellness activities into their travel plans for 2019
92% say they believe mental wellbeing is just as important as physical wellbeing, if not more important
83% of respondents agree that taking a holiday or short break helps them feel less stressed, regain higher productivity at work and reidentify their best selves
Just 10% of American respondents say they’ve taken a wellness break (compared to 64% of German respondents)
74% of those from the US say they feel more stressed than they did last year

- A Saskatchewan fertilizer company says all 34 people who were trapped deep in a mine for more than a day are now safely above ground.
A spokesman with Nutrien Ltd., said a service shaft stopped working at its mine near Saskatoon on Tuesday. On Wednesday evening, the staff took a separate elevator normally used to transport potash to the surface and no one was hurt.
He said the workers, who were about a kilometre underground during the ordeal, were safe and had plenty of food, water, power and contact with the surface.
The spokesperson said the workers were performing maintenance when they became trapped.
No winner of last night’s Lotto Max so the jackpot for Friday’s draw will be about $20 million.

DARIUS RUCKER’S PASSION FOR JULY 4TH FIREWORKS
Darius Rucker will likely be an active participant in Thursday’s July 4th celebration. The singer has long been a fan of the explosive holiday, admitting that his passion for fireworks almost cost him a body part. Darius tells us: [“Oh, I love fireworks. We had the bottle rocket fights and all that good stuff. I was the typical little crazy kid, you know. In South Carolina, it was always legal, so we shot fireworks when it was legal. We did all that sort of stuff. I almost blew my hand off once.”]
Darius will no doubt be shooting off fireworks at home with his family in Charleston, South Carolina.

CARLY PEARCE’S JULY FOURTH HOLIDAYS WITH DAD’S FIREWORKS MISHAPS
Carly Pearce typically spends her Fourth of July with family, shooting off fireworks and sharing some funny moments with her dad. She tells us: [“I feel like every Fourth of July we always went to my grandparents’ house and just had a big cookout and shot off illegal fireworks that we weren’t supposed to. And my dad would always almost get burnt up by one and we used to always joke that he always, every year got chased by at least one firework.”]

Eric Church has great memories of this week’s patriotic holiday growing up as kid in North Carolina. He recalls how the Fourth of July was spent every year on the water with his friends. [“The Fourth of July for me, growing up we would always go to the lake, we didn’t live on the lake but we would all go to the lake. (I) had a buddy who had a pontoon and we would always get on the pontoon and you go out and you’d tie all the pontoons together and just have a big time. This was before, I was younger then, the adults were having more fun than we were, you know it was just to go swim in the water and shoot off fireworks. Basically, water tailgating is what it was. And then as we got older, same thing . . . we would just, us younger kids had our own boat and we had as much fun as the adults, but it’s just a neat time to get away and celebrate.”]
Eric’s tour schedule this weekend is free due to the holiday, but he returns to the road on Friday (July 5th) with a performance at the Ottawa Bluesfest in Ottawa, ON.
- Garth Brooks –his Saturday night performance at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon featured a choir of 800 singers, which accompanied Brooks for ‘We Shall Be Free’ and the classic R&B song ‘Shout’. ‘Shout’ is a tradition among University of Oregon students, and is blasted out at the end of every third quarter during Oregon Ducks football games.
- Kane Brown – has teased his new song ‘Rodeo’. He shared on Instagram a video of himself in the studio, lip-syncing and dancing along to a demo version of the song. He promised fans that if the video got one million views, he’d release it — and his fans quickly took care of that.
