The Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) recently announced that its members’ sales had taken a hit of 1.1 billion dollars in 2018. The organization represents more than 14,000 farmers who produce about 30 percent of the nation’s milk, and its members earned about 13.6 billion dollars in 2018 compared to 14.7 billion dollars in 2017. The DFA says this drop is due to lower milk prices, but experts say the popularity of dairy substitutes and plant-based milks may play a role as well.

Thieves broke into a board game store near Seattle last Thursday, and stole $100,000 worth of Magic the Gathering cards. They got in through a skylight. And the owners think they must know the store well, because they knew where the hard drive was that had all the security footage on it, and stole that too.

“Game of Thrones” may be leaving your screens this spring, but it will be headed to the real world by next year, with the launch of its first tourist location, which will be housed at one of the HBO series’ former studios. The “Game of Thrones” Studio Tour will be a 110,000-square-foot tourist attraction at Linen Mill Studios in Northern Ireland. According to HBO, it will ‘drop fans in the very heart of the Seven Kingdoms’ by ‘combining the breathtaking imagery, captivating sets, original props and costumes, and other behind-the-scenes items’ from the series. It’s set to open in Spring 2020.

Felicity Huffman Pleaded Guilty and Apologized
FELICITY HUFFMAN was among 13 wealthy parents who pleaded GUILTY yesterday for their part in the college admissions scandal. She has yet to be sentenced. Her husband WILLIAM H. MACY was never charged.
Felicity admitted to paying $15,000 to give her daughter extra help on her SATs. She issued a statement yesterday saying her daughter, quote, “knew absolutely nothing about” the cheating.
But she did fully apologize. She said, quote, “I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.”
She added that she’s ASHAMED of what she did, and the pain it caused her daughter, her family, and her friends.
And she apologized to, quote, “the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices to support their children and do so honestly.”
LORI LOUGHLIN and her husband Mossimo Giannulli did NOT plead guilty yesterday. There’s still no word if they’re going to.

- In “Let It Be”by The Beatles, the lyric “Mother Mary comes to me” isn’t about the Virgin Mary. It’s about Paul McCartney’s mother, Mary.
- Kid Rockrefused to put his song “All Summer Long” on iTunes, but a karaoke version WAS available. It sold so many copies that it wound up higher on the Billboard charts than the original. The karaoke version was 19th, and the real song was 23rd.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS
Payless filed for bankruptcy back in February and is closing down but at least one piece of good news came out of it . .
A 25-year-old woman in Kansas named Addy Tritt recently popped into a Payless store that was having a liquidation sale. They had 204 pairs of shoes left, and were selling them for $1.
So, she offered to buy ALL of the shoes for a hundred bucks . . . 49 cents a pair. They took her up on it, and it was for a great cause. She donated them to people in Nebraska, who’ve been dealing with the worst flooding in the state’s history.
Addy didn’t want any praise for it, but one of her friends outed her after she went on Facebook looking for advice on how to deliver them. A sorority at Fort Hays State University in Kansas took them to Nebraska this past weekend.
She says she always volunteers and donates to good causes whenever she can because she thinks it’s, quote, “part of what it means to be human.”
Almost 80% of the shoes she bought were baby shoes. She says she did it because it feels good to help other people, and she wanted kids in Nebraska to have clean dry shoes to wear.

Two-Thirds of People Have Worked Out to Get in Good Enough Shape to Go to a Gym
Have you ever walked into a gym, looked at all the RIPPED people inside, and turned around and walked right out the door?
According to a new survey, 62% of Americans say they’ve wanted to join a gym, but felt like they weren’t in good enough shape. So . . . they worked out at home BEFORE, just to get to a point where they felt ready for the gym.
The survey also found 45% of people are afraid that other people at the gym are judging them.

GROWING OLDER IS BETTER WITH A PET
Aging is inevitable, but it can be better if you get a pet.
University of Michigan researchers polled 2,000 adults ages 50 to 80. Fifty-five percent said they owned at least one pet– most owned dogs, but no matter the type of animal, the majority of owner said their pets boosted their mental and physical health.
Ninety percent said their animals helped them enjoy life and feel loved; about 80 percent said their pets reduced stress; and nearly 75 percent said their pet gave them a sense of purpose.
Study authors say if you can’t own a pet you could try volunteering at an animal shelter, arranging pet therapy visits, or pet sitting.

- The Virginia Cavalierswon the NCAA national championship last night, with an 85-77 overtime win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. This is the first men’s basketball title in the school’s history.
It’s a bit of a REDEMPTION story for Virginia, because last year they became the first #1 seed to lose to a #16 seed. This year, they were a #1 seed again, and things went a little better.

- Someone on Twitter went viral with a photo of a Mexican restaurant menu that said, “Available with gluten aware corn tortillas.” It means the restaurant has gluten-free tortillas, but they were prepared in the same kitchen as the regular tortillas. Meaning, it wasn’t a gluten-free environment. So the gluten-free tortillas would be safe to eat for people who are gluten-intolerant, or doing it as party of a trendy diet, but NOT safe for people with celiac diseas, or an allergy. THOMAS RHETT EAGER TO SHARE ‘ACM AWARD’ WITH HIS DAUGHTERS –
Thomas Rhett says his definition of success has changed with each birthday. After winning Male Vocalist of the Year at Sunday night’s (4-7) ACM Awards, he noted that his phone had lit up with text messages from friends, but what he seemed most excited about – was to get back home and share it with his daughters. Thomas Rhett told us this: [“It’ll be really cool to get home. Literally we were in Australia last month playing some shows and um and I’d just got done doing soundcheck and Willow gets out the car and she’s like, ‘Daddy, I’m so proud of you.’ And I was just like, first of all, how do know how to say that. Second of all, just melted me. It’s been really awesome to share some of these moments with the kids, the way I did with my dad as well. So, it feels like it’s coming full circle in a way, so I do this for them, man I write songs for them. ELI YOUNG BAND RELEASE ‘GREATEST HITS’ ALBUM
Eli Young Band released their first album 17 years ago, and since then they’ve released five additional studio albums and an EP. A couple of weeks ago they released a collection of their hits, as well as fan favorites and two new songs on This Is Eli Young Band: Greatest Hits.
One of the chart-topping hits included on the project is “Crazy Girl,” which James Young tells us he and Mike Eli instantly knew would be a hit. [“’Crazy Girl’ was one of those songs . . . we had half the record recorded and we are starting to get submissions for outside songs. And it was one of those songs that me and Mike heard. Brooks & Dunn were part of the ACM’s this past weekend and they say the Awards have been integral to Brooks & Dunn’s success over the years, as Kix Brooks tells us: [“That was our first awards ever. Our first awards were two awards at the ACMs maybe in ’91, and it was a huge boost to our career. I think ‘Neon Moon’ went Number One the same week so that would’ve been our third single, and our sales doubled that week and things just really took off so we got a real sweet spot in our heart for the ACMs. It’ll be fun to get back on there.”]
