The Biggest Country Stars NOT In The Grand Ole Opry
Lainey Wilson was recently invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry by Reba McEntire.
Lainey is the reigning Entertainer of the Year, but some think she’s too young to be a member at 32.
So who are the biggest country stars that are NOT in the Grand Ole Opry? Some of these names might shock you.
1. George Strait. Wait, what? George actually received an invitation but turned it down. There are no hard feelings, but Opry members are expected to perform in house a few times a year. And George would just rather stay in Texas.
2. Chris Stapleton. He made his Opry debut in 2013, before anyone knew his name. But at this point, they better give him an invite soon, because he might have the best voice of ANYONE in country music.
3. Eric Church. It’s strange to realize that all your favorite country musicians are NOT members of the Grand Ole Opry.
4. Faith Hill. If she wasn’t inducted after “Breathe”, who knows if she ever will?
5. Tim McGraw. And Faith’s hubby isn’t in either. What gives?
6. Luke Bryan. Maybe he’s too busy with “American Idol”, or they’re just trying to stay away from the Bro Country era. Because Jason Aldean isn’t in either.
7. Miranda Lambert. This is another surprise omission. Her EX Blake Shelton has been a member since 2010
8. Morgan Wallen. There might be a “no chair throwing” policy perhaps?
9. Hank Williams Jr. He said being a member of the Opry was never a priority for him, because he grew up listening to Blues and R&B on the radio.
