Mark Chesnutt, who was a honky-tonk mainstay in the ’90s, recently underwent emergency heart surgery and is now recovering.

His Instagram made the following announcement,

“Mark experienced a heart health issue that hospitalized him on Sunday, June 16th. Mark underwent emergency quadruple bypass surgery. The recuperation time will make it necessary to cancel show dates.”

So far he’s cancelled shows in Louisiana and Texas and his appearance at a Country festival in Manitoba, but his official website lists shows starting in September.

Mark is best known for his #1 hits, “It’s a Little Too Late” . . . “Brother Jukebox” . . . and his cover of Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing”.

Mark is 60 years old, has been married to his wife Tracie since 1992, and the couple have three sons together, Waylon, Casey, and Cameron.
