15-Year-Old Country Kid Totally Wows Idol Judges
American Idol might have found the next big country star in a 15-year-old kid from McIntosh, Alabama.
Triston Harper has faced some serious troubles already in life.
When he turned 11 his stepfather became abusive towards his mother and they had to leave his home.
By the age of 12, he and his mom were homeless sleeping on the street, but luckily his grandfather was able to help them get back on their feet.
Now, I would say he is doing just fine after completely wowing the Idol judges on last week’s episode.
Tristan sang Jason Isbell’s “Cover Me Up” while playing guitar and sounded like a true pro.
Luke Bryan said, “I’ve been out-country’d by a 15-year-old,” while Lionel Richie added, “Your voice is a story-telling voice.”
And then Katy Perry said, “You’re so authentic . . . I’m impressed. For 15. That’s the old soul.”
