Taylor Swift Shares A Cool Story About Kenny Chesney
Taylor Swift was named “Time” magazine’s Person of the Year for 2023.
In the cover story, Taylor shared a pretty cool story about Kenny Chesney.
It happened when she was 17 and booked as an opener on Kenny’s tour.
Taylor was beyond excited because it was, in her words, “going to change my career,” but there was a complication.
A couple of weeks later she learned that the tour was being sponsored by a beer company, and since she was not legal drinking age at the time, she was too young to join and was devastated.
A few months after that, at her 18th birthday party, Kenny’s rep gave her a card, and inside it read, “I’m sorry that you couldn’t come on the tour, so I wanted to make it up to you.”
Taylor said there was a cheque with the note.
“It was for more money than I’d ever seen in my life. I was able to pay my band bonuses. I was able to pay for my tour buses. I was able to fuel my dreams.”
Kenny hit up Instagram yesterday to share some throwback photos of himself and Taylor while “proudly” congratulating her for being Person of the Year.
