Garth Brooks Cried When He First Heard “Mom”
Garth Brooks always gets a huge response when he plays his song, “Mom,” to a live audience.
He didn’t write it himself, but it reflects how he feels about his mom.
Garth talked about the first time he heard it:
“I was by myself in Oklahoma…sat around the dining room table and just cried like a baby. ‘Cause I love my mom, but it’s also pretty cool because when you have your kid, you’re everything, right? And, so, sometimes you have to be Mom; sometimes you have to be Dad. So that song just kills me.”
Garth’s mom Colleen passed away in 1999.
