The best part about owning a junky old car, besides the fact that it gets you where you need to go, are all the great stories it brings.

Hardy recently shared his junky car story in an interview with CMT.

“It was a 2006 or 2004 Silverado and none of the speakers worked. Something about the AC didn’t work. It would blow air, but it wouldn’t blow cold air.”

Fortunately, he started getting royalty payments for co-writing songs like “Up Down” and “Simple” and it was finally time for an upgrade.

“I called my business manager and said, ‘Dude. I have never owned a new vehicle in my life. Can I go and buy a new truck?’ and he said, ‘Yeah.’ So, I went and got a 2018 Ford F150 King Ranch and made a few modifications to it. Nothing crazy. I’m not, like, super flashy, but it’s sharp as they say. It’s a sharp vehicle.”
