Sam Hunt will return to court in Nashville on May 19th to face misdemeanour charges of driving under the influence and having an open container.

The case was originally scheduled for court in January and then again later this month, but coronavirus concerns have placed limitations on in-person court proceedings.

Sam was arrested on Nov. 21st after citizens reported a car going the wrong way on Ellingtown Parkway in the early morning hours. According to a police report, Sam was also swerving in and out of his lane. There were two empty beers next to him when police pulled him over, and when asked for his license, Sam reportedly tried to hand the officer his credit card and passport. He failed a sobriety field test and his blood alcohol content was .173 at the time. The legal limit is .08.
