Keith Urban Will Host The ACM Awards
Keith Urban is having a big week! On Thursday, February 27th he dropped a new single, was announced as this year’s host of the ACM Awards for the very first time, and also earned an ACM nomination for Male Artist of the Year.
“As if having a new song out today wasn’t enough, I also get to host the ACM’s in April. I’ll tell you – this year already feels like the most creative and energized year of my life . . . and there’s so much more to come. Incredibly grateful – and ready to roll!”
The new song is called “God Whispered Your Name,” and it’s one Keith did not write, although he said it most definitely tells his personal story.
“‘God Whispered Your Name’ really spoke to me the very first time I heard it. The opening line – I was so cold and lost/and nothing seemed to ring true – God, I know that place so well. At the end of the day if I’m gonna record a song that I didn’t write, like this one, then it’s gonna be a song that speaks to me really strongly, and ‘God Whispered Your Name’ absolutely spoke to me and tells my journey in such a profound way.”
Keith’s 2020 also includes 14 concert at Las Vegas’ The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, a European tour this May, and fairs and festivals this summer. He is also expected to release a new album later this year.
The 55th annual ACM Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 5th at 8 p.m. on CBS.
