Carrie Underwood Not Trying To Be Political
It’s likely that Carrie Underwood will perform her latest single, “Love Wins,” on the CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 14th. Carrie co-wrote the song, which she says sends a positive universal message, not one that is meant to be controversial in any way.
“We didn’t want it to be political. We didn’t want it to be polarizing. We wanted it just to acknowledge that we’re in a broken world. We’re all human beings. We all deserve love. We all deserve respect and we all should try to show that to one another.”
Of course, Carrie will co-host the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley for an 11th consecutive time. The show airs live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on ABC beginning at 8 p.m.
Carrie is also nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, going up against Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini.
