Van De Hogen, Joe Bert – of RR2 Ridgetown, passed away peacefully on Monday May 7, 2018, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, age 80.

Born in the Netherlands to parents the late Frank and Anna (nee Van Aalst). Loving husband for 40 years of the late Helen Ann (nee Pakanec) (d. 1997).

Beloved father of Judy and Tim Flanagan of Chatham, Bob Van De Hogen of Ridgetown, Nancy and Richard Havens of McKays Corners, Wayne and Kathi Van De Hogen of Ridgetown.

Cherished Grandpa of Shawn, Ryan and Sarah Flanagan; Joel, Greg, and Megan Van De Hogen; Jocelyn, Brett, and Jenna Havens; and Brittany Van De Hogen.

Brother of the late Martin (late Liz) Van De Hogen, late John (Mary) Van De Hogen, late Adrian (late Anne) Van De Hogen, Pete (Annette) Van De Hogen, Nellie (late Joe) Venclik, late Annie Beuglet, Frank (Carol) Van De Hogen.

Brother-in-law of the late Toni (late Fred) Semkowich, Mary (late Frank) Capek, and Rose Walker.

Joe will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Netherlands.

Family functions revolved around the farm where Joe worked tirelessly to support and raise his family.

A lifetime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Joe served on the St. Michael’s Cemetery Board.

Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East, Ridgetown, on Sunday May 13, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be shared at 8pm. The Funeral Mass for Joe will be shared at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 26 George St. Ridgetown on Monday May 14, at 11am. Burial to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Joe may be made to the St. Michael’s Cemetery Board or Church, Friends of the New Animal Shelter, or the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation.
