DeJans, Servaas (Aged 90, Dresden)

Mr. Servaas DeJans passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at the age of 90 years.
Servaas was a resident of Dresden since 1967, formerly of Wallaceburg and born in Belgium.
He was the son of Henry and Elvina (Robbrecht) DeJans.
Much loved husband of 62 years to Rachel (Van Haecke) DeJans and father of Brian DeJans of London, Ontario and Brenda Shreve of Chatham.
Sadly missed by his grandchildren Ethan and Evan.
Son-in-law of Ellwood Shreve.
Also survived by one sister in Belgium, Elizabeth, one sister-in-law Jacqueline and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers Valere, Rene, Gilbert and his sisters Albertina and Olivia.
Servaas belonged to the Legion Branch 113 in Dresden and the St. Michael’s Choir in Dresden.
Friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3rd, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with prayers on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 4th, 2015 from Our Lady Help of Christians Church, in Wallaceburg, at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Ray Lawhead, Celebrant.
Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass with the Interment of ashes in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice may be left at the funeral home.
As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Servaas DeJans.
