Kip Moore has released the video for his new single, “I’m To Blame.” The clip, which was filmed at the VFW in Smyrna, Tennessee, features Kip as a wedding singer who runs off with the groom’s bride.
But in real life, Kip is hardly in the marrying mood. He told People,
“I don’t have a great track record when it comes to relationships. I’ve been a boyfriend maybe three or four times in my whole life. I hang out here and there, but I’m kind of that person who longs for so much solo time, freedom, alone time. It does seem like a lot of guys my age in this business are getting married, but I’ll probably be the last bachelor standing!”
Kip co-wrote “I’m To Blame,” which he says is autobiographical and really sets the tone for his upcoming album.
“I just think it sets the tone for not afraid to go to different places as an artist, as a writer. A lot of times when things are successful, people want you to stay in one spot. They’re used to you doing one kind of thing. ‘You’ve got to keep doing this thing over and over.’ It’s like, ‘Nah.’ You grow as a person; you grow as an artist. That was what kind of sparked the whole idea was my growth as a writer and as an artist.”
Kip is headed to Dallas next week to perform at the ACM Party for a Cause music festival, taking place on April 17th and 18th. The event precedes the 50th Annual ACM Awards, which airs live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on April 19th on CBS.
