Why Rick Moranis turned down a cameo in the new ‘Ghostbusters’
You can stop waiting for the announcement that RICK MORANIS has a cameo playing Louis Tully in the new “Ghostbusters”. He was asked, and he turned it down.
He told the “Hollywood Reporter”, quote, “I wish them well. I hope it’s terrific. But it just makes no sense to me. Why would I do just one day of shooting on something I did 30 years ago?”
Moranis hasn’t done a live-action movie since “Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves” in 1997. His wife died from breast cancer that year, and he took a break to raise his two young kids.
That was 18 years ago, so they’re obviously not young anymore. And Rick is open to acting again. He said, quote, “I’m interested in anything that I would find interesting. I still get the occasional query about a film or television role.
“And as soon as one comes along that piques my interest, I’ll probably do it. [But ‘Ghostbusters’] didn’t appeal to me.”
(I want to respect his wishes, but THIS SUCKS. Rick Moranis NEEDS to be in that movie. At this point, I don’t really care how HE feels about it. Anyway, here’s the full interview.)
