Subway Suspending Relationship With Longtime Spokesman Jared Fogle
Subway took all references to Jared off their website yesterday and said they’ll “suspend their relationship” with him.
The home of Jared Fogle, Subway’s pitchman, has been raided by police.
The search comes almost 2 months after Russell Taylor, the director of the Jared Foundation (a nonprofit organization focusing on childhood obesity awareness) was arrested on child exploitation, possession of child pornography, and voyeurism charges. The 43 year old Taylor attempted suicide in May in and was placed on life support.
No word on why police were at Jared’s home or if it is related to Taylor but investigators from the FBI, State Police and Postal Service were all in attendance.
An FBI spokesperson confirmed that they were conducting a criminal investigation in the area, but would not comment further.
The 37 year old was detained outside of his house as authorities removed electronics from the home but he is not under arrest at this time.
Jared rose to fame after losing over 200 pounds by eating Subway sandwiches and exercising. He soon became their spokesperson in TV commercials.
