Thomas Rhett Celebrates Crash & Burn
Thomas Rhett earns his fourth consecutive Number One hit this week with “Crash And Burn.” The song claims the top spot on the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase radio charts. It’s the debut release from Thomas’ sophomore album, Tangled Up, which will be released on September 25th.
Thomas said, “’Crash’ was a really fun way for me to introduce this album and for it to already be No. one is completely crazy. I want to give a huge thanks to everyone for taking a chance on this song and record so far – it’s just a piece of what makes up this new album and me, and I can’t wait to get the rest of it out there.”
“Crash And Burn” was actually written by another singer-songwriter that Thomas says he’s a huge fan of.
“You know, I didn’t actually write the song, I don’t know how many people know that. But actually, Chris Stapleton wrote that song, if you can ever imagine that. You know, especially hearing that whole Traveller album, which is like top 10 favorite albums of all time. For that same guy to have written ‘Crash and Burn’ is pretty crazy. We actually tried to copy it as well as we could, except for vocals had to be altered. Chris is the best singer that ever existed, to me. So, that was the biggest part of trying to make a Thomas Rhett song was, how was I going to sing it compared to how Chris sang it? But man, that demo, it just blew me away. It was the most different thing I’d heard all year and I was like, ‘I have to cut this song.’”
“Crash And Burn” has been certified gold and is the fast-rising single of Thomas’ career.
