Maddie & Tae Discuss Struggles
Maddie & Tae were inspired to write their latest single, “Fly,” about their real life trials and tribulations in pursuing their musical dream. Tae Dye says that while the fairytale stories of success are nice, they’re not too realistic.
“You hear dream songs all day long. People talk about their dreams and they talk about the highs and how exciting that is and how easy it may seem sometimes but no one ever really tells you about the struggles and how real they are, and they certainly are, cause Maddie & I have gone through them, and I feel like everyone has to in order to reach the ultimate goal but that’s exactly why we wanted to write ‘Fly,’ to just remind people that, ‘Hey, there’s gonna be bumps but in those moments where you’re thinking you should give up cause it’ll be easy, you gotta keep going cause when you fall you learn how to fly,’ literally.”
“Fly” is featured on Maddie & Tae’s debut album, Start Here, which will be released on August 28th.
The duo are currently on tour with Dierks Bentley on his Sounds of Summer tour along with Kip Moore and Canaan Smith.
