Maddie and Tae’s latest single, “Fly,” was written by the duo early in their career when they were experiencing a real down time. Maddie Marlow says:

“Tae and I were in this weird phase in our career where nothing was really happening and we were working 10 hours a day recording, rehearsing, writing, something to better ourselves. (Tae) Meetings. (Maddie) Yeah, meetings, all kinds of stuff and we kind of got in this weird place where little did we know God was putting the puzzle together but we couldn’t see it. We thought just nothing was going on, and it was very discouraging because you’re working so hard for something and no one is taking interest. We moved up to Nashville at 17 on our own — no family, no nothing, so trying to figure out how to pay rent and how to fix broken A/C units on your own . . . You know, all that stuff on top of find your place in this town and find your place in the world, and it gets really discouraging and we had to write ‘Fly’ to kind of encourage ourselves but also let people know that they’re not alone because everyone goes through that moment in their life and everyone’s struggle is different.”

“Fly” is the follow up to Maddie & Tae’s Number One hit, “Girl In A Country Song.”

The duo will hit the road with headliner Dierks Bentley beginning on June 5th in Raleigh, NC.
