Reba Returns With New Album
Love Somebody, Reba’s new album, arrives in stores and online for download today. This is the legend’ first new musical project in five years, and it was something that Reba thought might never happen again.
Reba says that until her new deal with Nash Icon came along she figured her recording career was over.
“I thought I’d had my time in the limelight and my time on the radio and there were so many new artists coming on that I didn’t think I’d ever be able to be back on the radio, but to be on the radio you’ve got to have great songs. I realize that, and I’m not gonna take up that time, that air space with just an everyday, ordinary song and expect it because I’m Reba McEntire. I’m not going that route at all. I don’t expect it, so we looked long and hard. We went to the big guns and said, ‘Please give us your greatest songs,’ and they did. They delivered and I’m really proud of this album. I think we did a good job.”
Reba celebrates release day with an early morning performance this morning on NBC’s Today show. She says that getting to perform new music for fans gathered in the studio, not to mention the entire country, makes the release of Love Somebody that much more exciting.
“Well, I enjoy being on live television. When the fans are there that close to you like they will be at the Today show, it’s just a cherry on top of the ice cream cone. It’s gonna be a lot of fun, the energy’s gonna be high because they get a big kick out of it and when they get a big kick out it that makes me happy.”
Reba recently appeared on the TV show The Voice.
