When you’re booking a flight with Spirit Airlines, you’re making the choice to trade comfort for a much cheaper flight and LOTS of unpleasantness. But this is next level unpleasant.
On a Spirit Airlines flight on Friday from Charlotte, North Carolina to Newark, New Jersey, somehow a LIVE BAT got loose and started flying around the cabin. It’s not clear where it came from, but eventually someone managed to trap it in the bathroom.

A man who dumped a fridge off a cliff in Spain was slapped with a $67,000 fine and was forced by police to haul the appliance back up the ravine.
Someone can be heard saying “recycling, let’s go, recycle it” and “let’s see how many flips it can do” as the heavy appliance tumbling down the slope.
Police said the man could be facing further fines for “environmental crime.”
But a fine was just the beginning. They also ordered the man to return to the scene, retrieve the fridge with his bare hands and dispose of it correctly. The police made sure to capture it all on camera as a video shows two men struggling to push and pull the fridge back up a cliff.
In another Tweet, police said that as a result of their investigation, the waste management company which employed the man would be facing sanctions for failing to properly dispose of their old refrigerators.

Stargazers are in for a treat as the annual Perseid meteor shower is set to dazzle the night sky. The Perseid meteor shower will peak on Monday night into Tuesday morning, causing over 90 shooting stars per hour.
The Perseid meteor shower has been going on for the last month but will hit its peak now when it enters the heaviest debris field. According to astronomer Gary Boyle, the show will be visible from all angles and at all hours of the night.
“It will peak throughout the entire night, it’s not a specific time. Pretty well it starts at 10 p.m., right until sunrise,” Boyle explained. “The incoming meteors vaporize in the upper atmosphere, north, south, east and west. So there’s no one area to look at the sky.”

GOOD NEWS
There’s an 11-year-old kid named Ruben Martinez in El Paso, Texas. And in the wake of the domestic terrorist attack at the Walmart there on Saturday, he wanted to figure out a way to help heal the community.
So Ruben has started the El Paso Challenge . . . where he’s challenging everyone in El Paso to do 22 good deeds for each other. The number 22 is in honor of the 22 victims who were murdered.
Ruben is suggesting things like, quote, “Mow someone’s lawn, visit a nursing home, pay for someone’s lunch or dinner, donate to families in need, write someone a letter and tell them how great they are, [or] hold the door for everyone.”
His mother says he came up with the idea after, quote, “He was having some trouble dealing with what happened. I explained to him that we could not live in fear and that people in our community are caring and loving.”

Canadians who had credit cards with Chase Bank can breathe a sigh of relief as the company says it will “forgive” all outstanding debt.
Chase Bank, part of the New York based JPMorgan Chase & Co., closed all credit card accounts in the country in March 2018, the company said.
Originally, customers were told to continue paying their debt, but the company confirmed Friday the debt was now cancelled.
“Chase made the decision to exit the Canadian credit card market. As part of that exit, all credit card accounts were closed on or before March 2018. A further business decision has been made to forgive all outstanding balances in order to complete the exit,” Maria Martinez, vice president of communications for Chase Card Services, said in a statement.
Chase declined to say how much debt was forgiven or how many customers were affected.
The bank had offered two rewards cards – with Amazon and Marriott – in Canada, CBC reported.
While the company could have sold the debt to a third party, Martinez said, “Ultimately, we felt it was a better decision for all parties, particularly our customer, to forgive the debt.”

HOME ALONE REBOOT : WHAT MOVIE SHOULD NOT BE REMADE?
Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal — a Disney remake of “Home Alone” is on its way. The original Home Alone, which was released in 1990, starred Macaulay Culkin as 8-year-old Kevin McCallister, who finds himself left behind when his family accidentally leave for a trip to Paris without him. Disney hasn’t provided any more details about film, when it will be remade, or who will be cast. There are also “reimaginations” planned for “Night At the Museum,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and “Cheaper By the Dozen.”
Disney has a “Home Alone” reboot in the works, and the news left many fans upset and confused by the decision. Moments after the announcement, fans of the franchise began theorizing that an updated “Home Alone” wouldn’t work in today’s technologically advanced society. One Twitter user noted that, “With GPS tracking, smartphones, texting, FaceTime, Google and Alexa services and advanced housing security systems, the odds of Kevin being left behind for as long as Macaulay Culkin’s character in the 90’s classic seems farfetched.

SMARTPHONE GAMES: SMARTER THAN YOU THINK:
A new study says that playing video games on your mobile device is a much more effective method of relieving stress than mindfulness apps…or even meditation.
The study involved two experiments, which asked students to unwind in different ways after a math test, and after work. Both experiments showed those who chose smart phone games ended up being more relaxed and more in control than those who used “stress-busting” mindfulness apps or meditation.
Lead author Dr. Emily Collins said: “To protect our long-term health and well-being, we need to be able to unwind and recuperate after work. Our study suggests playing digital games can be an effective way to do this.”

WASHING YOUR PILLOW:
How often should you wash your….pillows? People often overlook cleaning their pillows, but not only do they collect dust, they also are a bacteria breeding ground, according to one expert.
Tom Harari, CEO and Co/Founder of Cleanly, an on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning service, says that you should wash your pillows two to three times a year, but the frequency depends on the person.
He says washing pillows every three to six months is good, as long as you are washing your sheets and pillow cases more often than that. To wash a feather pillow, here are a few tips:
➠ Check the label to make sure it can go in the washing machine.
➠ Check the seams and mend any weak ones.
➠ Select the gentle or delicate wash and spin cycle.
➠ When drying, add dryer balls or tennis balls to break any clumps in the feather or down filling to keep them fluffy.

Justin Moore’s Kids Caught Him in a “Cat Allergy” Lie
Do you have a cat allergy, or is that just the excuse you tell your kids so they won’t hound you to get a kitten? Hey, it’s great if they buy into it . . . but not so great when they find out you’re a liar.
That’s what happened to JUSTIN MOORE. His wife Kate and two of their daughters ratted him out in an interview with PEOPLE.
He was talking about their two kittens that will eventually be outside cats . . . but right now they’re living in the garage because he’s afraid coyotes might carry them off.
His daughter Ella called B.S. on that, saying, quote, “You’re not afraid, we are. Because you hate cats.” And then his seven-year-old daughter Kennedy added, quote, “He says he’s allergic to cats but he’s just lying to us.”
That’s when Justin had to come clean. Quote, “[The] worked for years . . . until they debunked that theory.”
As far as WHY the cats have to live outside . . . last we heard, the family had a couple of 200-pound Great Danes that are inside dogs. Can’t imagine the chaos that would go down if they brought the kittens into that mix.

LADY ANTEBELLUM MARKS 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF ‘NEED YOU NOW’
Lady Antebellum‘s monster crossover hit, “Need You Now,” was released a decade ago yesterday (Sunday, August 11th). The group tweeted about the milestone writing, “10 years ago, we released ‘Need You Now.’ It’s hard to describe what this song means to us. It truly changed our lives. It has taken us around the world, introduced us to countless, incredible fans and opened doors we had only once dreamed about. We’re so, so grateful!!”
The song earned the trio several awards, including Grammys, ACMs and CMAs, and as Charles Kelley tells us, it was simply a “career song.” [“The response from the get-go was so big. It’s been a career song for us for sure. We thought ‘I Run to You’ was our career song, but honestly, after ‘Need You Now’ came out and to see what it’s done for us, it’s been really, really, really, really huge for our career, and we’re just really proud of it.”]

GLEN CAMPBELL TO BE HONORED WITH MUSEUM, MUSIC VENUE
The late Glen Campbell will be honored with a new museum and performance venue in downtown Nashville. The Glen Campbell Museum and Rhinestone Stage is slated to open in early 2020 at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Lower Broadway in downtown Music City. The venue will be a 4,000-square-foot museum that will offer live music at night.
The Tennessean reports the museum will house personal artifacts including guitars and other instruments, stage clothing, and family photos to help tell the story of Glen’s life and career.
Glen died on August 8, 2017 at the age of 81 after a battle with Alzheimers.
