Dan + Shay Grateful For Fans Support
Dan + Shay are double nominees at the CMT Music Awards, in addition to performing during the live broadcast. Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney are up for Video of the Year and Duo Video of the Year for “Speechless,” which features footage from their respective wedding days.
While any award nomination is humbling, Shay said this one is particularly meaningful because it’s voted on by the fans.
“A fan-voted award is amazing cause those are the people you’re making music for and to be here and to nominated again is incredible and our fans, they won us one last year, which was our first award ever so it’s really cool to be here and it’s gonna be a lot of fun. I think we got some little surprises that’ll be happening at some point. It’ll be really cool . . . I think. I don’t really know anything, so . . . “
The CMT Music Awards air live from Nashville on CMT at 8 pm.
