Shania Twain Is Bored Of Today’s Country Music
Shania Twain admits that she is less than enthused about today’s country music. She recently told E! News,
“We have too much of the sameness right now. I’m a little bit bored of it, and I want to pick it up. The only way to do that is to be proactive. I wanted a show that, when you talk about diversity, that includes gender diversity, style diversity, lifestyle diversity.”
Shania is also “fed up with the ageist and sexist thing,” adding that her new show, USA network’s Real Country, is an opportunity for absolutely anyone to have a shot at realizing their dream.
“There are a lot of artists out there who are intimidated of what they believe country music is . . . I want to show them there are no limits . . . I want to know who you are and I want to help you. I want to give you an opportunity.”
Catch Shania and her co-judges Jake Owen and Travis Tritt on Real Country every Tuesday and Wednesday on the USA Network at 10 p.m.
