Get Really Ready For Fall
If I asked you what your favourite season is, what would you say? I would say fall. Mostly because it’s still warm, the colours are spectacular, oh and it’s my birthday season. True story. My birthday comes in October.
If you love fall as much as I do, you want to celebrate everything. We have amazing fall foods – pumpkins and fresh apples. We have the amazing smells. We get (eventually) cooler weather which makes us want to cuddle up in sweaters and hoodies, and drink warm apple cider and hot chocolate.
These lists – compiled by SimpleMost – reveal how to take advantage of the fall season. From what apples work best in cider and pie and for making caramel apples, to how to roast those amazing fall veggies, to soup recipes and how to make your house smell amazing. Gala apples make the best apple for snacking, Empire’s are great for salad or fruit cups, Macintosh are great for apple cider (I love them in my pies), and Granny Smith hold their shape and recommended for baking. If you like firm apples in pie. Ick. (smile) Check out the recipes for mixing up your hot chocolate (I’m anxious to try the pumpkin spice white hot chocolate).
Check out the list HERE.
And what do you love to do in the fall? Pumpkin carving is big for Halloween, but what other fall traditions do you like to do? We’ve always loved raking the leaves, and as kids jumping in them. My kids have outgrown that stage sadly. The corn maze is fun, make candy apples, have a scary movie party, make your own cider, make soup, go to a haunted house, or go apple-picking! By the way, did you know that you can actually visit the house in Toronto where they filmed the movie “IT”? It’s true. Find out more HERE.
How many of this list of 11 Traditions do you and your family participate in? I can say almost all of the them.
