Workers at Community Living Wallaceburg are hoping today’s information picket gains them some public support.
OPSEU Local 150 President Monica Wright says the 170 employees in Wallaceburg have been without a contract for about a year.
She says the union is looking for more stability for its members, with only 28 employees currently listed as full-time. “Our individuals that we assist, they need consistency, they need structure,” says Wright. “How can someone give them that with only two days a week?”
A statement from Community Living says the agency looks forward to further dialogue with the union and to reaching a positive outcome in the near future.
